The Flames are a good home team. They haven't lost a game in regulation at home since November 15. This will be a tough game.
The Flames are also a terrible team at holding leads. They were leading 3-0 over Ottawa a couple weeks ago. I was pulling for them since Ottawa was around us in the standings. They were winning 3-0 for Ottawa to come back, and win 4-3 in OT.
Also I think we can definitely win this game. No doubt. However we are only a shorthanded goal away from losing a game to a team like this.
Hopefully we can go what will be our 4th game in a row without giving up an official shorthanded goal. We've scored shorthanded in our last 2 games.
Also Calgary has not scored a shorthanded goal this whole season.

You beat me to it, it's not like he's making any difference on the PP which is the reason he was brought here.
We simply don't have the personnel for this PP, and I wish the coaches would recognise that and change it instead of stubbornly trying the same thing that doesn't work repeatedly.

Do they have any rookies looking to get their first NHL goal? All the factors are lining up.
On Calgary at home the Devils have given Tampa Bay 2 of their 5 losses of any kind the whole season at home. Don't know if anyone else has beaten them twice at home, but that's a pretty good statistic.
When the Flames get a lead, they sit back and protect it. Every time. I've seen it happen numerous times this year. They stop doing what got them ahead and sit back. The longer the game stays close, like I said earlier, the more dangerous of a team they are.
Just an FYI for everyone as well, the game probably will start at least 15-20 minutes later with the Flames having a pre-game ceremony for Iginla's 500th goal.

I don't like how the kid that paralyzed him wins the $190 pot and then KEEPS the money. You would think of anyone who won that money he would be the absolute 1st to donate it right back. jeesh pretty selfish

I don't want to judge since they could have just forgot to mention it but yeah, i really, really hope the kid donated the money.
Maybe he took the money and went out and bought an awesome present for him to do something more special - maybe a personalized jersey of his favorite player or something? We don't know and the kid was there supporting the event which has to be awkward as heck to begin with for someone his age. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Too much Elias on faceoffs. Should have Zubes take them for that line. Also, not having Zajac (who has quietly turned into one of the best non-specialist faceoff players in the league) kill our team percentage so far.
I understand the team likes Foster for the PP but I don't agree with them. Taormina helps more than Foster at ES, PK, and probably the PP if he got a real shift there.
Wasn't Henrique winning a lot of faceoffs in the game against Philly we won? I thought he was. All I remember is we were winning a lot of faceoffs that night.
