Wow!

I can't believe the injuries this team has had to deal with. Combine that with the inability of the key players to do anything offensive lately and I see us drafting in the top 3.

It's going to be a long second half of the season.

To draft top 3, we would probably have to finish with 70 or fewer points, and possibly need fewer than 65 points. At 48 points currently, 70 points would mean 22 out of 80 remaining points, or a record like 8-26-6 or 7-25-8. Even if we were to finish the rest of the season as poorly as Columbus started it, we would not be picking top 3 unless we finished 8th or worse and won the draft lottery.

Its a lofty goal at this point to either get out of the slump and make the playoffs or tank hard enough to earn a proper draft pick.

10th place and #13 overall here we come. Not good enough for the playoffs, not bad enough to get an instant difference maker in the draft.

Yup. That sounds like the Wild all right.

Looking at my pocket schedule and seeing who is left, I could see the Wild getting 10 or fewer wins the rest of the way.

That concussion is courtesy of Zach Bogosian. Shanny's going to have to edit his video where the bullet point says No Player Injury. Of course there was no video and no explanation until Russo coached it out of him. Some bogus stuff about PMB turning his back before he was catapulted into the boards by Bogosian. Director of Player Safety my arse. Needs to change is title to: Director of Maintaining The Status Quo.

My guess is that the concussion was bugging him the whole time, and when he was out with the "lower body" injury, he went to the doctors, they asked him about his head, and they decided he needed to be shut down.

With Lats probably gone and the uncertainty with Butch longterm, picking up Parise at UFA (if he gets there) is starting to actually make a lot of sense.

Poor guy. Have to feel bad for him and Gui. As for the Wild...

its easy to see a scenario where Butch either didn't want to believe the truth or didn't want anyone to know..

Nope.

In fact, it probably makes even less sense now.

The only way trading for Parise would make even a modicum of sense is if this is a playoff team that needs a final piece to be pushed over the top. Losing Bouchard makes this team even less able to make a deep playoff push, so it makes less sense to bring in Parise.

1st + prospect + conditional 2nd is not worth a first round playoff exit.

It was just misread. That said, when did it ever not make sense to try for him in free agency?

Shanahan. All the unpunished dirty hits along the boards before Bouchard's essentially gave Bogo permission to make that play.
