Yup. Theres Scott Wedgewood who just played for Canada in the World Juniors. Theres also Clermont and Kinkaid, both of which turned pro this past year and are playing in the minors. Kinkaid seems to be the most NHL ready out of the three. He had a pretty good camp back in September. Wedge, in my opinion, has the highest upside though. Theres also Jeff Frazee but I think he's done.

There's no one in the pipeline that can replace Marty but I believe Wedge and Kinkaid can turn into pretty good goalies for us.

As far as weakness, I would say we don't really have any RW's prospects. We also need an established #1 D. But if Zach would be traded, which he wont, it would have to be for established players or prospects who are sure things.

I see them keeping Parise in part to satisfy Kovy.
i think it had more to do with the 100 million dollar contract.

Well, now we're getting somewhere. So how about a couple of projected top-6 forwards and maybe a pick? Or maybe a 40-50 point top-9 NHL forward, a projected top-6 forward prospect, and a pick?

I'm happy to see you called him on this. The word you wanted to use and used are the same. Barometer is absolutely correct.

Correct. Salvador is gone, Brodeur may or may not be re-signed, and if he is it will be to much less. The cap space is there, it's a question of what ownership can afford.

It's really unlikely that he gets traded for anything, considering that Lou probably expects the Devils to make the playoffs.

But that would be the place to start.

A package similar to one f those is probably what the Devils would be looking for, should Parise go on the block.

For Parise if he doesn't want to return to New Jersey. Thoughts?

Then why didn't he sign with the Thrashers or the Islanders?

What does Lou demand? I think we can agree that it's not an impossible scenario.
What makes you think Lou will not be able to meet Zach's demands? Do you have a clue as to what the Devils' cap situation is next year?

With the collusion cap gone next year Parise should be able to field offers from several teams. Whoever offers him $100 million will have the best chance, though it could take a bit more to land him.

I think he's worth at least $150M, anything less is a slap in the face.

If I remember correctly both the Thrashers and Islanders offered him something along those lines and he wasn't interested in that. He wanted to stay in NJ (not that I understand why - sorry NJ fans), and he wanted his money, and NJ was willing to make it happen.

So you plan on doing a 20 year contract then.

I'm almost certain he'll be a Canuck after the deadline.

He said he wants to win...

Is the only thing holding up him resigning in NJ, Lou being able to convince him they can win?

Islanders only offered him 2 years, but $20 million.

That's the feeling we get, but as is usual with the Devils, nobody knows for sure.

Idk...new jersey happens to be one of the greatest places to live on, a great education suystem for his kids, is between two huge cities yet you live in the suburbs. The only bad thing about new jersey is the tax situation. That's why. Plus the franchise is one of the most successful in the last 2+ decades so yea that's probably why...

The only thing holding up the extension is Lou(or above). He hasn't started negotiations with Parise or his agent(Wade Arnott).

Might be because Lou is odd and does things differently(No talks during the season even though he said he's make an exception for Parise) or maybe there's more in the Devils front office, ownership issues.

Parise has stated several times he wants to stay so it's up to the Lou and Co. to get this started.

I'm fairly confident that he will not be traded that's for sure. Lou doesn't trade UFA to be when his club is in a playoff hunt which they are and will be come trade deadline day.

If Parise is leaving it's on July 1st(Or later)
