That's per SI's Richard Deitsch, who had asked ESPN a question about those gay-baiting comments James made during Wednesday's debate, and what impact they might have on James returning to work for the network. Deitsch subsequently tweeted the Worldwide Leader's answer:
Will say this again, he has done a brilliant job of chasing away talent from a 10-win team, but his guys better do well, or else. Personally, he was never the right man for the job. His record against Top 25 teams is pretty bad, he's a mediocre coach record-wise, and he's pretty much gutted the program clean of talent from the prior regime. I would have liked Leach to coach MD, he would have gotten MD's alleged apathy about football fixed quick.
In 5-10 years Maryland will be Oregon-East. Under Armour is going to hook their program up big time.
I also agree with you on Leach. I'm a huge fan of the guy. Would have been awesome to see him dominate the ACC. Maryland with Leach would have been more fun to root for than him with WSU, that's for sure.
4 Arizona Wildcats football players arrested after fight
Quote:
Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez is facing the first major discipline moment of his early tenure with the Wildcats, with the news that four football players were arrested early Friday morning.
The student-run Arizona Daily Wildcat reported Wednesday that three of the players were arrested on criminal trespassing in the first degree and assault -- sophomore defensive back Jourdon Grandon, sophomore starting right tackle Fabbians Ebbele and sophomore offensive lineman Eric Bender. Another player -- sophomore safety Jared Tevis -- was arrested on trespassing charges.
Arizona Athletic Director Greg Byrne released a statement Wednesday morning: "We are taking this matter seriously. We are cooperating fully with the Tucson Police Department, and disciplinary action will be handled accordingly. Due to federal student-privacy laws we will have no further comment."
Didn't see it posted, or talked about, but the Big East put the proverbial tail between their legs and is bringing Temple back for football, but added other sports as well. I don't suspect the MAC will seek a replacement in football, but basketball wise they're talking to Butler because Temple was their most prominent program.
Yeah that's a pretty light punishment considering the extent of the allegations. Coupled with the fact that it took an unprecedented amount of time, past signing day, so that this doesn't impact the recruiting class that the bowl ban would impact.
Also, didn't touch on many allegations that were uncovered after the NOA was released including the fact that Davis NEVER used his UNC supplied phone but instead used his personal phone that oh by the way he has refused to release to the media even though a court order required him to do so since conducting business for a public university requires it. At the very LEAST it was unmonitored at WORST some very shady dealings occurred on that line.
But hey.. UNC can't force him to comply, just like Blake, because they "fired him" ... with pay (2.5 million) ... even though his contract explicitly states he can be terminated without pay if he breaks NCAA rules. Funny how "compliant" UNC has been throughout this whole process.

Gentlemen, the terps should dominate the NE. The only other major program in the area is rutgers, since the cuse stopped mattering a long time ago. They are a program which is placed for success, as long as they stop other teams from raiding their territory.
Rutgers isn't as big of a deal as you think, especially in their geographic area near NYC

NCAA rulings are ridiculous. They need integrity and standards because you never know whos gunna get what. It all depends on the name of the school, unfortunatly
