Leino was the best Sabre by my measure. Nobody could take what he was dishing, though.

Pegula has turned out to be a garbage owner results wise. **** Ruff and Regier, time to get a billboard a la Modrak and Guy etc and get Linda and Marcy fired.

I agree. It just doesn't make senese unless he knows Ruff would get a contract somewhere else (he would) and he knows he can fire him and be picked up.
But 7 years. Babcock doesn't have that. Bowman never did. It would be incredible.

Ruff quoted as saying that Vanek has a "stomach flu, or possibly food poisoning"? UBI? I'm sick of the methods this teams use with reporting injuries. Just say it.

Yeah I agree. I liked Leino tonight. He was the best forward on the ice for us.

The Good:

- Leino, like I said above. He was taking shots tonight but his linemates were invisible and didn't provide help.
- Myers was pretty good, same with Reggie.
- Miller most of the night but he let in one softy and another he could have probably had.
- Ellis and Gerbe were getting chances; Gerbe hit the pipe.

The Bad:

- No PPs...really?
- Pretty much everyone else, especially Stafford, Boyes, and Gragnani.
- Miller let that soft one in and the backhand was questionable but those are difficult to predict.
- No offense.
- Kulemin with a hit on Kaleta?
- The injury-every-game streak continues. Vanek hurt.

The Ugly:

- Getting shut out by the Leafs.
- Three goals in the last three games. Terrible.
- I have a feeling the deadline's going to suck for us this year.

I know where he's coming from, I was also sick to my stomach and I was just watching the game.

David Steckel absolutely killed the Sabres on the dot going 14-2. He's big, kills penalties, and is making less on his 2-year deal than Gaustad is pulling this year alone. Goose, you'd make a lovely rental to some team bound for the playoffs, I must say.

This core needs to be ejected like it has a matter/anti-matter breach.

Ruff also said another player had the same issue but for whatever reason wouldn't say who it was. Why I have no idea. I think Goose was the other player

Been thinking the same thing all year. Goose is way overpaid for whale does. But he might get a three year $7million deal as UFA. Be prepared for that

Had to find a place to watch the game since my hotel no longer carries Center Ice.....

Watched Contagion on the plane coming in and have concluded this team originally contracted a Stafford infection which has spread and turned into a wholesale epidemic..... It starts with the headache brought on when one becomes overly preoccupied with making sure they are performing their zone coverage assignments on the ice resulting in the restricted mobility and use of one's skates, followed by random convulsive motions of the stick when attempting to retrieve the puck w/o making any body contact. This is followed up by a severe lack of hand strength and deflation of hand eye coordination which debilitates one's ability to see the opponents net versus the goaltender's chest, pads, blocker, stick, pads and goal posts. Finally the patient dies from a lack of effort or caring about the outcome of the game.

The whole team has it and unfortunately, the coach and mgmt is immune.

Sorry but I can't take it any longer.

This obsession with Goose's pay by some is bordering on the ridiculous. His cap hit is 2.3mil. Thats it. His cap hit is 8th among forwards on the team and 13th overall on the team. He is having a down year offensively but is normally a 12+g 30+pt center that is a very good PKer, plays a physical game, will scrap and is one the best faceoff men in the NHL. Would our team be doing better if he made 2mil?

Good:

Top line stud center is enroute!

Bad:

Nothing bad about landing a franchise center!

Ugly:

Having to wait until next season or the season after to enjoy the fruits of our suck.

Damn you, you had me all excited with your good. I was thinking, did we make a trade? Then your ugly knocked that silly idea out of my head.

They cannot win and they are boring. They now treat the puck like a hot potato--passing is awful--just get rid of the puck so its not my fault attitude. There was some effort but oh my goodness they fire nothing but blanks. Stafford seemed to try but after being unable to beat a goalie on his knees and reaching with a feeble shot, he fires the puck into the crowd. Myers looked good. Miller was weak on the first goal--but not the second-backhands in close from a forward left alone--not the goalie's fault. If Ruff has a 7 year deal we are looking at 7 years of famine--the franchise will end up in Hamilton or somewhere else in Southern Ontario not in the Toronto protected zone.

One of the most boring Sabre games that I've seen.

When's the last time someone on this team got into a fight? Ehrhoff's wrestling match that somehow injured his ribs?

Tonight Buffalo lost to the hated Leafs. These games usually bring out the best in the fans and the team. The post game chatter about the game-or lack of it- indicates the apathy among hardline fans.

Darcy will probably draft a defenseman or winger. OR A GOALIE.
