I don't see Girardi making it over Letang. Letang is easily one of the best defenseman in the game right now.

I could see him being ready but Team Canada has some pretty elite talent that might be hard for him to crack. But that all depends on what Carolina continues to build with and how well he does.

That's why I put him on my fantasy Olympic roster as well. Girardi is THAT good.

Yes he's a good shut down guy but Team Canada uses shut down guys with offensive skill. I could see the shut down pairing be Pietrangelo - Seabrook. Put that with Canada's third line with Toews Richards Nash and Canada will have no problem shutting down teams.

Look for something like this:

Stamkos - Crosby - Perry
Staal - Giroux - Eberle
Nash - Toews - Richards
Neal - Spezza - Tavares

RNH / Sharp / Iginla (depending on how he's doing at this age)

Keith / Weber
Seabrook / Pietrangelo
Doughty / Letang

Staal / Phaneuf (he plays well for Canada) / Subban

Price
Fleury
Luongo (depending on how he's playing at that age)

This should have high HF value.

Nugent-Hopkins - Crosby - Stamkos
Tavares - Giroux - Toews
Nash - Kadri - Perry
Eberle - B. Schenn- Skinner

Doughty L. Schenn
Weber - Pietrangelo
Keith - Letang

Price/Luongo

aw yeah.

2 years from now I can see. Now you know they will be looking for those grit players like Morrow who played so well. I know its bigger ice but you still need those tough players to grind games which I hope the Toews line can do that.

Not sold on Hall yet but maybe 2 more years may allow him to pass guys with more experience like Bergeron.

Stamkos Crosby Giroux
Nash Getzlaf Perry
Richards Toews Staal (shutdown line)
Hall Tavares Eberle
Bergeron

Doughty Weber
Pietrangelo Letang
Keith Seabrook
M.Staal

Price
Fleury
Luongo

Bold prediction: Team Canada 2014 has zero current or future Leafs on it.

Not really that bold. Phaneuf as our 'best' D-man is still somewhere like #10-15 on the depth charts for Canada alone. Our best Canadian forward Lupul doesn't hold a candle to the forwards at Canada's disposal. I don't even want to talk about goalies.

Dion named alternate captain, along with Sharp.

Getzlaf is the captain.

If Lupul can repeat, he should be considered. He is the 2nd best LW player that Canada has (after Neal). Its good to have a player that has had success as LW, than try another forward do it just for the olympics, that too on a wider ice.

Iginla, Benn, Lucic, Hartnell, Sharp, Marleau, Hall just to name a few are just some of the Canadian LW that are better than Lupul in my opinion. I believe Heatley and E. Kane also play LW.

Forza, it wouldn't be the first time you've said something outlandish and been serious.

The old guard will be getting on in years and the younger goalies can have a chance to prove themselves with Carey Price leading the way.
Oh yeah, totally forgot about Price. I'd like to see him in ahead of Luongo and Fleury also.

Iggy is RW. As far as the rest are concerned, it really depends how they all do in next 2 years. Lupul did outproduce all of them this season.

Thats why I said, if Lupul keeps up.
