Cammalleri being booed..

Tonight Cammy has clearly been targeted by the crowd boing him aloud at a couple of times..

We all know what usually happen when Habs fans target one of their own players, it usually doesnt end well..

My question, do you think the boos are deserved and do you think Cammy is still a Habs after the deadline?

I was at the game. He wasn't being booed. The only time it may have seemed like he was being booed was when he was carrying the puck out of the Habs' zone in the third period after a prolonged shift where the team did a whole lot of chasing the puck, allowing the Blues to do as they wish. Every other time he had the puck, or was on the ice, no one targeted him.

We need to rebuild around our core guys (Price, Gorges, Subban and Pac) and be patient!

Sadly knowing our fanbase, neither is gonna happen.

I always thought booing a player was stupid, regardless of salary etc etc.

It makes a player who already isn't playing well, unhappy and adds pressure, doesn't remove it. It just hurts the reputation of the city in general and when people want to sign here, they'll take it into account.

It's never smart to boo your own player. Nothing good ever comes out of it.

Tonight was nothing...fans are just gearing up for Gomez's return on Saturday.

Cammalleri responded with some spirited play. He was fairly articulate about the matter after the game. Message sent. Message received.

Gomez is the guy to worry about. Paycheck player, all talk no walk.

I don't think any Habs has 100% job security. Maybe only PK and Price.
But it's tough to know when we aren't sure if management will try to rebuild or not.

Actually, the real fans can be patient. There is the other one also, the bipolar one who can't.

To be honest I think it was more a boo for the whole team, minus Price. and just so you know Price was booed and hes still here.

I am more than willing to be patient for 3-4 years if it means the habs will be picking top 5 each year.

Most fans will pressure management into quick fixes instead. Mark my words!! I want us to follow Edmonton's path!

I'm going to wait until I see how Cammy does with a different team before I decide whether I like him now or not.

Ahah man, you know what? Now Edmonton is one of my favorite team since last year because they have many young players. Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins, Sam Gagner, Paajarvi and the comeback of the one and ONLY, RYAN SMYTH.

The Oilers will bring the Stanley Cup back in Edmonton within the next five years!

Sadly, the Habs will never do the same as Edmonton...

32 points in 32 playoff games as a Hab

... including 17 goals

He's clearly having a rough season.

Didn't he just start a young family or something?

Anyway, that's personal stuff....

Unless there's a miracle, he will also finish this season with 32 points in 32 playoff games as a Hab. So now can we judge his performance/worth on what he's done in the regular season?

I was at the game and never realized he was specifically being targeted. I thought people were booing the whole team (as I was doing). That being said, he's been awful this season.

The reason Cammalleri makes bank is to be a relatively good even strength scorer and and major power play producer. His even strength scoring is pretty close to his par, especially since he's been miscast as a shutdown two-way winger on Plekanec's wing too often this season and the last.

The big issue is he and everyone not named Cole, Plekanec and Weber aren't producing nearly at their normal level on the power play. Making him far less valuable than he should be. Whether this is his own fault or the the fault of general power play dysfunction is up for debate.

Yah I agree. Booing Price during a pre-season game was management's fault not the fans
