I lol'd. In all seriousness, I think more and more are trickling in trying to find/sneak some hints from some of us mock draft gurus.

Good news is that Di Giuseppe could slip to the 2nd round and Slepyshev is probably available then. Bad news is Hertl is ranked really high for Euro skaters right after Collberg and Forsberg and may very well go in the 1st.

Hopefully we land a goalie like Makarov. Houser wouldn't be too bad either.

Hudon at 96th

Matteau at 13th is quite surprising.

Personally, I don't put any stock whatsoever in the Central rankings. I like RLR quite a lot. McKenzie's are the most predictive, too bad he doesn't do them more often.

It changes so fast in terms of rating that even he would look like a fool looking back at his ratings.

He's basing his list on what he's hearing from the scouts mostly. Grant McCagg helps him do it. His lists are usually accurate because he does it right before the draft too.

Like I said in the other tread. The only issue with Hudon is size. No doubt in my mind we should pick him in the 2nd.

The guy can flat out finish from what I've seen. He's got a nice pair of mitts, and it seems like he never quits on a scoring play.

The only knock against him is his skating, but I don't really see any fundamental flaw in his stride like say: Boone Jenner.

I don't know, it would depend on who's still available.

What are your thoughts on top ranked Euro Russian Nikolai Prokhorkin?

I've heard the name, but not much else. Ahead of Slepyshev he is.

Another guy that seems interesting from the Mid Term Rankings is Lukas Sutter. Heavy guy (199) and is 6 Foot. He has impressive numbers good numbers (35 PTS in 40 GP) and has 96 penalty minutes. Seems like a big guy that can score and throw the body.

EDIT: Checked out this name on Youtube. He can fight.

He would be a perfect late round pickup. I actually don't know why he isn't higher on the list.

Didn't find much on him. He is tall but a big lanky. He is playing in the KHL at his age which is a good sign but he has no points and is not playing on a regular basis. I think he was on the preliminary WJC Russian Roster but got cut.

I had heard some hullabaloo about Prokhorkin from some of Hfboards resident commies a little while back. But you're right, there's virtually nothing out there on him. Maybe we'll see him at the u18?

Let it stay that way. I want Galchenyuk, unless we can get Grigorenko.

It's been argued that you don't pick a guy who's missed his 17 year old season that high:

How many 17/18 year olds are doing this?

That is a 16 year old getting 90 points in his first OHL season. That is a 16 year old with an NHL shot. And that is the 18 year old we'll be picking, Odin willing.

It would be stupid to not pick him. He is everything we are lacking.

I suggest we have a 500 person protest at the bell center for Galchenyuk. En Francais, ben sur...

The problem with Galchenyuk is that he was not good at the Ivan Hlinka tournament, and Yakupov was still tearing the OHL up without him. So how much of his production comes from having Yakupov on his wing?

He wasn't the one setting up the plays for Yakupov. One Tournament does not mean much as we saw with Murray at the WJC.

31 goals in 68 games as a 16 year old, and the way in which he scored them is pretty much what I care about.

End to end rushes, one timers, dirty goals around the goal mouth, and just plain getting to the high slot and ripping it top cheese.

I don't really think there's much video evidence of him playing second fiddle to Yakupov at all.

I'm just saying, the stats are telling a different story when you have nothing to see this season. For all we know his development could have stalled this year. It happens.

Unless it's a can't miss prospect like Hall or Crosby, then I would not use a Top 10 pick on a kid that hasn't played a game of hockey that same season. There was no way for him to learn, get stronger, get more confident.

He'll play about as much as Connolly did during his draft year, and they'll be mostly playoff games, so we'll be able to get a better read on him then.

If he hasn't lost his step, you'd be a fool not to pick him.
