Blogger summit's tonight

Not really sure about the format or if you can listen/watch somehow.

http://sabreshockeycentral.com/2012/...logger-summit/

In terms of finding out about the big meeting last week or Lindy's contract or why Pegula won't talk to the media anymore, some guys in their parents' basement might be our last best hope.

Come on, bloggers. I know it's hard, and I would be nervous, too, and the pros won't even do it, but how 'bout some good, hard, pointed questions?

Sad that I couldn't make it, I'm not afraid to ask tough questions. Hopefully those going will ask the good ones!

Why the shot? Several of our more level-headed and insightful posters happen to be part of this. They know hockey. They know how to impart their opinion via the Web. Neither of these things is, on a hockey website discussion forum in particular, cause for criticism.

If you bothered to pay attention to the last blogger summit, they asked tougher questions than our illustrious Buffalo News reporters, did so respectfully, and got good answers.

They're doing it again tonight. Good thing they showered I guess.

I write Black & Blue & Gold. Am I allowed to link to my own blog here or would that violate the ToS?

I think it violates the ToS, others can post links though! I cover the Amerks at Lets Go Amerks.

I think most have learned to just shake off the old "parents basement" bit.

Again, I apologize. I don't happen to think bloggers are in their parents' basements or are social misfits or anything. I think they all do an amazing job. I know from some experience how much dedication it takes.

I can see Phil (mecaphil) in the second row, far left in that photo (the cap is a dead giveaway). It looks like Bakes (Hobey Baker) is behind him but I could be wrong.. Not sure if Eric is in that picture (eSabre).

I wish someone had asked about that meeting that supposedly took place.

I also wish the organization wasn't so secretive regarding contracts and injuries.

Other than that, about what I expected. People do need to back up a little bit. While something is clearly wrong, as TB noted, "This isn't xbox."

Here is the one click link for those that would like it.

Blue Cross Arena Renovations
- Blue Cross Arena is a “pretty nice AHL arena for its’ age.”
- Amerks not master tenant at BCA, therefore it is almost impossible for the organization to renovate.
I call BS on this one.

There appears to be a power struggle going on with regards to control of the BCA with the Amerks and K-Hawks ownership being split up and the Lancers joining the mix as a tenant this winter.

The Amerks and Knighthawks are the first tier tenants and the RazorSharks and Lancers are second tier. Just look at the home dates and times for the four teams this season.

“Buffalo has gone from a place no free agent wanted to play to a place that is at the top of everybody’s list.”
Where was the follow up question: "So why did the Sabres pull out of the running for Brad Richards to sign Ville Leino?"

From what I hear there was a bit of a battle to get your questions out so follow-up questions were rare.

And I'm not sure if this comment was tongue in cheek but it's been rehashed several times, Richards showed no interest in coming here so the Sabres were wise in pursuing other avenues rather than missing out on other guys by chasing a guy who had no interest in coming here.

If Richards had no interest in coming to the Sabres, that flies in the face of “Buffalo has gone from a place no free agent wanted to play to a place that is at the top of everybody’s list.”, right?

If people are going to get called out on exaggerations, there was a perfect opportunity to do so.

And giving how Leino has performed thus far, would the Sabres have been worse off had they missed out on him because they were chasing Richards?

Could someone clarify the point about the Rangers top 9 missing a combined "one man game" compared to the Sabres "two hundred man game"? What does "man game" mean?
