Highlights of the season

Hello Blues fans,

As I'm sure many of you are aware, there is Central Division tweet-up taking place on July 28th in Columbus. http://frozennotes.com/2012/05/13/su...sion-tweet-up/ As part of the festivities, I've been asked to put together a highlight video which encompasses the entire division.

I'm a Jackets fan who has put together a number of videos of the team in the past. So while I have plenty of highlights of the Blues scoring against Columbus, I want to make sure I don't miss spectacular hits, goals, fights, or saves that may have happened throughout the season. I didn't see enough of the other teams in the Central and want to make sure I create a video which accurately captures the season from the perspective of a Blues fan.

I thought I could turn to the NHL's "Top 10" videos that they put out every week during the season, however just most of the things in this league, if it didn't happen in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, or Washington, the league didn't notice it happened. That is why I'm turning to you fine folks to make sure I include the highlights that you guys and gals think are best.

So if you have something that you think should be included in the video, please share it here. Please help me narrow down my search by including the date of the game, and if possible an approximate game time it happened. I'm obviously looking for anything spectacular, but also things that might have been career milestones: first goals, hat tricks, 100th goals, 250th point etc. Anything that was a memorable highlight to the season.

Thanks again,

Tom Larrow

At work and on my phone, can't really look up dates or times, but most should be youtube easy.

Perrons return goal vs blackhawks.
Schwartz first nhl goal.
Oshie leveling penner in the playoffs.
Oshie setting up backes against the sharks.
End of game 4 scrum/fights against the sharks.
Langenbrunner and Perron I think winning game 5 of the sharks.
Homer vote(sort of) Reaves hitting Jamal Mayers then fighting bollig, I think.

Or you could just piece together every petro shift.

Some of the ones mentioned

Perron game 5

Perron Shorty vs DRW

Petro OT

Oshie Dish to Backes

Then a personal one for me Elliott's first highlight save of the season

Wasn't it this season when Backes hit Captain Serious and broke his stick? (Could have been last year, but that was pretty awesome.)

Also, Perron's goal vs Chicago in his first game back.

The comeback vs Edmonton (at home). I thought Pietro really asserted himself in an elite way in that game when he got angry.

Playoffs:
Polak hulking out.

Oshie juking 3 Sharks on his way to getting an assist via Backes. He looked like Indiana Jones on that play.

Jaro returning to Montreal, pitching a shutout, and getting a standing ovation. Stewart scored some really saucy backhanders this season. Elliott's save on Dan Boyle. Jaro stopping a 2 on 1 and a 2 on 0 in the third against Columbus. Sobotka's dirty shorthanded goal, but I don't remember the opponent. That's about all I can think of.

Sobotkas shorty was against the hawks, I believe. Wicked little grin, too.

What about Polak absolutely savaging Braun.

Or...was this Berglund counter-check from this season?

I was lucky to watch the Blues play at the Bell center this year when Jaroslav Halak made his comeback by having a shutout against Montreal. It was even better at the end when the crowd was giving him a standing ovation. It's rare that a former Habs player get cheered by the crowd but it just shows the respect people have for him.

I was watching that game in a bar in St. Louis. That moment was absolutely spine-tingling

Granted this happened to a Blues player...but the one thing I will remember this season (minus the Canadiens amazing ovation for Halak's 3-0 win) was Pronger's hit on Backes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp1zdLzXjCI

Old captain vs new captain. I honestly cannot recall Backes not getting up before that hit. It was also important, to me, because it was a good hit in a period when there were no many that were not or borderline. Backes was quoted as saying that was the hardest hit he has ever taken (or at least at the NHL level).

Ooohhh...not on the ice...but Panger as a shark was hilarious. Good luck finding a video link on that one though.

That little Panger tid bit lead to

and

and of course...

Don't forget the goofy teeth Panger making fun of Don Cherry. I can't find a pic, but that was awesome.

I was at that game too, and you're right, that standing ovation was something.

I was at Sharks vs. Blues game 2, and the Oshie assist along with Polak destroying the player at the end has to be my highlight of the year.
