This was just an exercise to illustrate the intricacies involved in the process. The League's Hockey Operations Department is doing it for real right now and the official fills will be announced Thursday.
I don't care about the All Star Game. It's hard to take it seriously when the home fans manage to get their third pairing defencemen into the proceedings.
I know it's not the real list but James Neal is hurt, I imagine Patty would be one of the first choices for injury replacement.
No he's not...
Quote:
RW James Neal gave the Penguins a rare bit of positive injury news before their 5-1 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. Two days earlier, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said that Neal had been diagnosed with a broken foot and was expected to miss four-to-six weeks. Then Neal was on the ice during Tuesday's morning skate, an indication that something positive had happened. And indeed it had. Original X-rays taken of Neal's foot did not show a fracture, but rather scar tissue from an injury he sustained earlier in life. Neal said that his foot, which was struck by a puck last week, was bruised and sore, but he intends to manage to get through the season in his current condition.

I don't care about the voting process as I don't care about the game. It isn't hockey they way I like to watch it (with hitting and intensity). I just see it as a chance for a player or players to get hurt in a meaningless game.
This isn't the same as the Olympics where national pride actually means something (in my opinion at least).
