Watched the 1st one and he says nothing about having a trade lined-up... must be the 2nd part?

'It's hard to say, though, what Burke would want in return for Schenn. Last year, Versteeg went for 1st and 3rd round picks, but Schenn might actually be more affordable...'

whoaaa really?

just to be clear...

McCown: "About this time last year you said you were optimistic you could make a move of some significance and you did. How do you feel now?"

Burke: "I think we'll be able to do something"

McCown: trade freeze is over are you in conversation?

Burke: "Yup"

McCown: "There's something on the burner?"

Burke: "Yup"

McCown: "And you think you will be able to get something done?"

Burke: "Yup"

"Versteeg went for 1st and 3rd round picks, but Schenn might actually be more affordable since he would be coming with 4 more years on his deal. Plus, teams aren't exactly jumping up and down to spend $3.6 million on players only good for 16 minutes per game."

So they gave up a 2nd and 3rd rounder and 7th overall to draft Schenn and they're going to trade him at a time when his value probably couldn't get much lower? I don't see how that's going to work out well.

Why is somebody on the blueline necessarily going? We have one regular out and his roster spot is being filled with a guy who should be in the AHL. Depth? Not.

Nice interview. I like Burke's honesty and sense of humour. But now he's really started something by mentioning the likelihood of a trade

No he doesn't. There's a difference between regular season hockey and PLAYOFF HOCKEY guys like Armstrong pay off come playoff time. It's guys like Mac who become redundant and already is.

I wouldn't mind doing Aulie for Couturier but if Schenn is the player, think JVR and other pieces, Burke loves bigger deals.

Gardiner is more realistic than Schenn. I wouldn't trade either though.

Flyers would never do that. It would need to be Schenn+ for Couturier.
