Society is boring...hence celebrity worship is going through the roof these days since household names who are young and not "boring" (since they are famous of course) enjoy a sickening pedestal and power over the masses.
Now...was it always better and is it anything new?
Elvis/Michael Jackson were great artists yet neither could deliver live performances to music lovers due to screaming/shrieking females nor walk around in public. The Beatles had to stop playing concerts early in their tenure for the same reason. Kids just have the ability to display that behavior from their computer.
Nice that Ference and Seguin have some personality most athletes are extremely boring.

What does that have anything to do with it? How can you slam a girl doing a thong thursday on her twitter when society considers it respectable for a young lady to be in playboy? Wait and see how many Olympians do it. Hows that worse?
If Kim Kardashian can be a hero to this generation and a true A list celebrity for doing nothing other than taping herself having sex with a rapper I do not begrudge Seguin's celebrity status amongst females under the legal drinking age. Does Raisman not deserve her new found fame and popularity from kids? Of course she does they have almost noone their age to look up to.
I'm (just) young enough to know multiple girls college-age who have friends who have hooked up with Seguin or stayed at his house on nantucket etc etc 2nd or 3rd hand theres 10 girls who have some sort of involvement with him there's no horror stories about the kid he's a good guy he deserves any adulation he gets here in Boston from the young ladies.
