Excluding that Edmonton game, since he went down we're 7-1-2.

I couldn't agree more. I notice his forecheck almost every shift. Replacing him with a plug like McLaren makes no sense to me when we have Rifleman out there.

That is actually amazing, although Havlat went down with injury it was great to see players from Worchester Sharks get an opportunity to step in for players who are injured. Though it may take a while for players who are injured reserve to return.

If I ever decide to travel and see a road Sharks game, I think I'm going to Winnipeg. Aside from the unmatched hospitality of the Peggers, It sounds like you can't throw a stick without hitting a Sharks player when they're there.

I am the opposite as far as how I see Murray. I like his playing style, however it's more of a thing that I know he is doing well the less I notice him, much as Vlasic was early on.

He has my vote of confidence, but that means a lot... :/.

I guess I've got a forecheck fetish cause that's one of the main things I watch for

100% agree. He's far from flashy, but he gets the job done in fine fashion. Fundamentally I understand the occasional decision to put in McLaren when we're playing, say, Anaheim, but I don't think it's necessary. Murray's plenty adequate, and I don't think McLaren brings enough to justify scratching Murray.

This. The difference in the fourth line's effectiveness between when he's in and out of the lineup is undeniable. Some of that has to do with McLaren and Wingels being pretty much useless but Murray's really effective on the forecheck.

Yup, analyze it all you want, but those 3 guys seem to have an energy together that simply doesn't exist when any one of them is missing. It's the first time in a long time that when the Sharks 4th line is on the ice I actually get a little excited, instead of "damn I hope we get through this shift unscathed".

This is my preferred playoff line-up right now, based on what we've seen:

Marleau - Thornton - Pavelski
Clowe - Couture - Havlat
Mcginn - Handzus - X
Winchester - Desjardins - Murray

Vlasic - Boyle
Murray - Burns
Demers - Braun

The X is the only issue. We need an upgrade over Mitchell, even when he's playing his best, we could still do better. He's a good depth guy though.

If Torrey played everygame like he played last nights game I would have no qualms, he was snake bit last night but had some great chances and really stepped up his game and effort. Alas I dont see him keeping this up and me thinks DW already has something in place to replace him very soon(Isles I think )

He's ALWAYS snake-bit, it's like Grier taught him how to have stone-hands. If you are relying on Mitchell in the playoffs, you are going to be sorry.

If the Sharks got Nielson from the Isles it would be totally ideal. I'd even be pretty happy with Bailey.

I don't mind if TOM is replaced in a game here and there. He's never played a full season in the NHL and it doesn't hurt to have McLaren in there once in a while.

Yup. I'm actually excited for the fourth line to come out this year, as opposed to last playoffs when every shift was a disaster. (Like that one game where Nichol was a -2 in like 40 seconds of ice time )

Only thing is I'd keep Havlat on the third line and add someone to the second or first line (they would still be tweener talent, but speed and good forechecking and puck-smarts).

Yeah, Havlat and Zeus were looking good together right before "The Accident"

On the other hand, playing Havlat on the third line seems kind of limiting. We only have three goal scorers ATM.

I just want to add this little anecdote in reference to last nights game... regardless of how good or bad the jets play, and having been to 6 sharks games (season/playoffs) in the shark tank, the shark tank has a better vibe, it is MUCH MUCH louder, and is without question the more fun place to be - all in comparison to mts centre. Proud to be a Sharks fan.
