The Wild travel into the heart of the new Central Conference what's clearly not a division-mate, despite being less than half the distance away from our nearest intra-division opponent, to seek vengence for their terrible December.

When last we met:

The Wild recovered from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to force overtime.

Mikko Koivu pulled up short while backchecking in OT and rushed off down the tunnel.

Patrick Kane did this -

Storylines:

Both teams are coming off Tuesday wins to stop losing streaks. Chicago beat Columbus to end a 4 game streak and the Wild earned just their second win since that 12/14 matchup with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Sharks.

The Wild continue to suffer through injuries, with Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Guillame Latendresse remaining on IR. Josh Harding was sick yesterday, and did not travel with the team. He was expected to travel commercially and is questionable for tonight's game. Matt Hackett has been recalled (Aeros play in Peoria tomorrow) in case Harding can't go.

Patrick Sharp is out for 4 weeks with what is believed to be a wrist fracture.

Devin Setoguchi should return after being a healthy scratch for missing a team meeting on Tuesday.

Chicago's injuries are finally piling up. While they had missed only 3-5 man games due to injury prior to the last contest, the injury bug has hit them now. Rookie center Marcus Kruger is out with a concussion and free agent signing Dan Carcillo is out indefinitely with a lower body injury which may require surgery.

Ray Emery once again gets the start against the Wild. He should be facing off against Backstrom Harding Hackett a guy in a white jersey.

Projected Wild Lineup -

Setoguchi-Koivu-Heatley

Clutterbuck-Cullen-Wellman
Johnson-Brodziak-Powe

McIntyre-Peters-Staubitz

Schultz-Falk
Zanon-Zidlicky
Stoner-Spurgeon

Harding
Hackett

Projected Blackhawks lineup -

Stalberg-Toews-Kane
Hayes-Bolland-Hossa
Brunette-Frolik-Shaw
Bickell-Mayers-Smith

Keith-Seabrook
Leddy-Hjalmarsson
Montador-O'Donnell

Emery
Crawford

One last note:

There is gonna be a hat trick in this game.

Not sure on which team, but that's what I'm guessing.

Gonna be a really hard game to win but hopefully we can keep the momentum going here and steal 2 pts!

I feel like the team could use a motivational speech or three...

I would like to see the Wild battle the same way they did vs. Josey. If they play a respectable game, I'll be happy regardless of the final score.

Most likely to get hat trick IMO would be Hossa.

Same here, and it would be nice to see us get 3 or more goals too

Alright looks like the stakes have been raised. This chick I knew from high school just agreed that I can finally take her out on a date whenever I get back to my hometown if the Wild win tonight. I've been trying to get at this chick for so long it's ridiculous.

****ING WIN THIS ONE WILD

Let's see... the last time we played Chicago, it was the Minnesota Aeros versus the Chicago Blackhawks. This time, it seems like it will be the Minnesota Wild versus the Chicago Ice Hogs.

Lets build some more confidence tonight.

Fight hard, take it to em.

And I'm betting on the Hawks again cause I bet on the Sharks last game. Gotta wear the same lucky socks.

Yup, he is a wild-killler, specially in the PK!

Just added the Chicago lines...and they make our top 6 look almost respectable. Yeesh.

So, possibility of Hackett starting with Harding as backup, assuming he got on a commercial flight?

Sounds like Harding got out there some time last night and will get the start. There's always a chance that he looks slow or out of it from the illness and Hackett gets the nod, but for the moment it should be Harding.

Also:

Bickell-Mayers-Smith

Sounds like the name of a discount hotdog company or something.

The Blackhawks scare me.

Their team beats ours on paper any day. Wild will have to rekindle that winning mentality that they discovered during the 1st half of the season.
