Wouldn't mind seeing Hossa as one of the captains.

Goalies tend to get shelled in the ASG, so nothing new for Brian and SBP.

#kidding.

Mikko Koivu is going to miss the ASG with a shoulder injury.

As far as I know, he doesn't have to be replaced with another Minnesota player... teams are only required to have a player NAMED to the game, not actually play in it.

Who draws in to replace him? I'd like to see Kopitar or Loui Eriksson get the nod.

Alfie is obvious, but I bet they go with Chara for the other because of the "Ottawa ties" and "just won the cup" combo.
Well done.

NHL.com does ASG mock draft and Alfredsson/Lundqvist (Captain/assistant) don't end up picking Karlsson????
Alfie even said he was picking EK65 with the 1st pick. He ends up going 6th.

Another fail by nhl.com when it comes to predictions.

They're quite frankly useless.

Rumours that Ovechkin is going to pull out of the ASG because he's suspended.
What a ******.

In all honesty, I don't like him at all, so I'd personally be happy if he kept his hideously ugly mug at home.

Bummed that Toews will be missing, he's probably my favourite non-Senators player at the moment. Ovechkin allegedly bowing out just pisses me off though. I know he has no obligation in his contract or whatever, but he IS eligible. Fans want to see him because, love him or hate him, he's one of the more creative players in the league. Choosing not to show up would just be classless for a player like him in what should be his prime years.

I want to pay for overpriced tickets to go watch half an All-Star line up. Hartnell in for Toews and Ovechkin out too.

What a sad event this is turning out to be.

It's an All Star Game, what were you expecting.

Guys pull out of the ASG every year. It's not going to be different this year.

So pumped my favorite Rapper Drake is performing during the 2nd intermission!!! I like the NHL changing the culture a bit and not always going with a rock performance. The NHL is the least ethnic league and I believe it's important to bring in some culture to the sport, and bringing in a famous guy like Drake is a great start!

so why do people actually attend this event?

I would rather overpay for a playoff ticket. At least then you get to watch hockey.

So where da part at?

The guys from The 4th Period say they have "Official" All Star welcome party at Studio Thursday night after the Fantasy Draft. The local Wisers Rep tweeted yesterday that "most" of the All Stars will be at Tila Tequila after the Draft for their party...who knows.

Drake is apparently having an after All Star Game party at Studio Sunday night.........................

The dudes from Junxion Public House tweeted last night that they'll soon be announcing details about a big All Star party Friday night with special guests and host.

The Sheepdogs and Young Rival are playing a Sirius XM Radio sponsored show at The Great Canadian Cabin Friday night. Unfortunately, its already sold out.

Just a warning for people out there. Word is there is alot of counterfeit all star merchandise going around, make sure whatever you buy has the reflective logo on it and you should be alright.

Found some more party info - take it for what it's worth though. Some of these dont look too legit. Lots of pubs/bars/clubs will be trying to pump their establishment as THE place to be!

For what it's worth, I saw Matt Duchene tweet earlier in the week that Cabin was one of his favourite places. Wouldn't surprise me if he and a few of the guys go there.
