there's a simple explanation for this, many russian fans (living in the US/Canada) vote for russian players 'no-matter-what'. This is sad ofc.

The ASG skills competition in 94 is where Jagr's groin issues started. It is also where last year Hiller's got knocked in the head and had "vertigo" issues.

Yes, there is less of a risk, but it still makes me nervous.

As for the OV discussion, I see no problem with him going. It's not always how well the player is doing but the name as well. Plus Backstrom is now injured and it would be weird that the Caps only rep would be Wideman. Also the idea of him & Geno playing together or even against each other can only add to it for the NHL.

Toews just dropped out of the ASG.

Look for either Neal or Hartnell to go.

If Ovi doesn't show, then Neal is a lock.

Hearing that with CHI's Jonathan Toews out of ASG because of injury, PHI's Scott Hartnell is the replacement. #hartnelldown

I remember a time before he went to Philly that some people wished the Pens traded for him.

Who cares about Neal being "snubbed"... I mean really guys. The ASG is pretty much a joke these days and I think it's honestly better for him to get some rest.

Hartnell's always been a good hockey player. Most people forget that once upon a time he was a top 10 overall pick...

Neal should be there but it's no big deal, he could use the break

He's pretty much always been a reliable 25G/year guy.

It's just at the time that Philadelphia signed him, they way overpaid (compared to what the cap was) in order to keep him from hitting FA.

With the year he's having, and the cap having gone up, it looks a lot more like it's what he'd get on the market now anyway.

AFA Hartnell, this is a case of a dumb system creating a good result. Typically guys named for what they did last year but this year Hartnell has been very good. Don't have a problem at all with him being there.

Now that Ovie has backed out, I guess Neal will be going, as well... yes?

Neal no longer snubbed, named as replacement for Ovechkin.

He should have been in in the first place.

Happy for Neal, but you know one of our guys is going to get hurt in this thing. It's just how things seem to go for us these days.

Good for Neal. He seemed like he really wanted to go when asked about it. Wonder if he and Geno end up on a line together.

That's gonna be salt in the wounds for some Caps fans, though. C'est la guerre.

Actually things have been going pretty well injury wise for the Pens lately. There are still a lot of people injured, but for the most part people are healthy. When Staal comes back they'll only be missing Crosby.

this'll raise the contract by a mill lol.

happy for him though, he definitely deserves it. it was ridiculous he wasn't named to the roster originally.
