I agree completely. Except if it's New Jersey. We've owned them.

Even if Letang and Sid come back they won't be 100 percent right away. Especially if they come back during the playoffs..they're better off coming back during the regular season to get even a few games under them.

The only reason you're even that close is shootouts.

ROW: Rangers 39, Pens 30

you can be the best team without having the best regular season record. As I've said though, the Rangers are clearly the team to beat right now.

Yep. Bruins were the 3rd seed last year but actually had fewer points than the 4th place team. Sometimes during the regular season a team doesn't win some they should for various reasons. The Canucks won the president's trophy and scored more points than any other team in the league.

Also I think a huge part of winning in the playoffs is peaking at the right time. And once again staying healthy and having enough depth to step in for those who are injured.

Your obsession with ROW is quite amusing.

The point you're missing is that the best regular season team isn't necessarily the best playoff team. Boston and Pittsburgh are playoff hardened teams that will fight tooth and nail to the last buzzer. Either would be a very difficult out over a 7 game series. NY is a very inexperienced team in comparison.

The season series (the Pens/Rags) stands at 2-2. So obviously there isn't much separating them.

That's the plan, but it's impossible to tell when they will come back.

All of our core guys have been in the playoffs a few times now.
Tortorella coached a team to the Stanley Cup.
Richards has a Conn Smythe.
Rupp has scored a cup winning goal. Feotenko scored the only two goals in game 7 of the 2004 SCF.

Except the injuries aren't some odd happening anymore. Pens have become a "fragile" team.

That 'fragile' team is 18-4-1 since Ray Shero announced that they would NOT miss the playoffs.

That 'fragile' team is 8-1 against teams currently in the playoffs, including a pair of rather convincing wins against the Rangers.

That 'fragile' team's 'fragile' goalie is 16-2-1 in that stretch.

And, that 'fragile' team has done all of that not only without Crosby for 23 of 23 but also without Letang AND Staal for 3 of 23, without Staal for 2 of 23, without Letang for about 3 of 23, and without Orpik for 1 of 23 (curiously enough against the Rangers if memory serves).

Be thankful that the Pens are so 'fragile' right now.

So...Richards. Rupp and Fedotenko are terrible and Tortorella isn't going to be on the ice. The rest of the core guys you're talking about...well all they've shown is that they're really good at losing in the first round. It's all relative, and in comparison to Boston or Pittsburgh, NY's experience level pales.

Well they gotta get experience one way or another. Everyone does.

We beat you when everyone was playing, including Crosby. Then we beat you when Letang and Crosby were out. Then you beat us with Staal, Letang and Crosby out and the 4th game just had Crosby out. I'm not trying to make a point with this I'm just putting the info out there.

Rupp and Fedotenko can suck as much as they want, if they score me the cup winning goal in the SCF.
And if experience played such an important role, why wouldn't we have the same teams winning every year?

Exactly. You don't think that atrocious Game 4 last year didn't teach the team a thing or 2 about the playoffs?

Boston, while it was on a larger scale, blew a 3-0 series lead AND a 3-0 lead in game 7 the year before they won.
