He's a tough dude, no doubt about it.

Incredible news. That hit looked terrible and I was getting ready to hear that he would be out for a while. He's gotten his game back these past two games and I'm happy that he'll be able to continue that streak.

Awesome! He is lucky he didn't bang his head on the board harder or he might have gotten knocked out. He probably just got a little whiplash. Someone else said it but we've seen him hit pretty hard before and sometimes he is slow to get up but he always does. Hope he doesn't play timid when he comes back because the last few games he was really coming on and the team needs him.

I wonder if the Kings doctors have already tested him for post-concussion symptoms.

Kopitar has the constitution of an ox. Couldn't have received any better news.

his mom when when they showed his parents on camera looked absolutely horrified.

when he steps on the ice in CAL is when i will feel relieved finally. concussions are strange beasts. it's possible he could still show signs with the first 72-hours, even though so far he hasn't. i have had a few in my days and the doctors always told my parents to keep a close eye on me for that first three day period.

Feb 12 iirc is the return game with DAL. mark that one down, because i wouldn't be surprised if someone lays out Morrow. loved that MR went after him last night. personally was hoping though that someone other than him would have for a variety of reasons. at the same time that is what a teammate and a strong leader does, he goes out and beats the **** out the guy that just ran one of your teammates

Article said that he spent time in the quiet room, but woke up today with no symptoms.

“I don’t see a reason why” he couldn’t play tomorrow.
That's the spirit.

Best news of the day. This will be another win, I think players have more energy now, than they have ever had this season.

Great news.

I hope this doesn't make him more tentative. We need him skating hard and driving to the net. This is about the time of year he usually starts picking his game up. 4 points in his last 2 games btw.

Good news, but sometimes concussion symptoms don't show up right away. Hopefully he'll be 100% and just a little sore.

Now he just has to be more cautious when he comes around from behind the net.

I want to see him play in a game or two before I totally buy he's OK. Kopitar needs to be a little bit more aware of his surroundings. That hit last night would be tough to avoid though. Kind of a gray area in the rules IMO being so close to boards. You can't cross check a guy but you hit a guy at full speed 3ft from the boards?

That is what I was trying to explain last week and I was accused of not understanding the rules. I get the rules, but rules are bad, because they punish some completely harmless physical plays on open ice.

I wouldn't keep him out. If he has concussion, this will be evident very soon and it will not make much difference anyway. If he doesn't have concussion, he is just losing playing time for nothing.

Besides, he is kind of a player that gets headache if he has to watch the game on TV.

its because a huge majority of the time Kopitar doesnt even hit the boards there. It takes one hell of a hit to send someone flying through the air 3 feet in the opposite direction to where they were going
