Goalies: Pads for men's leaguer?

I'm what I would characterize as a pretty good men's league goalie (play 1-2x per week year round). I've been using Hasek-era TPS pads (pro level I think - they have the Tim Brown stuffing) for a while but have been wearing them loose so they rotate slightly in the butterfly. As you can imagine the landing gear is not built for this and the ergonomics as far as knee angle/position aren't good for the joints. So I think it's time to suck it up and get a modern set of pads.

I'm looking at the 7450s, L9s, and RX8s. I can get the 7450s new for $400 but the others will be up over $650+. Does anybody have any thoughts on the relative merits of these mid-level pads? I know my own personal feel is the primary consideration but I wanted to hear what others have to say. If I'm neutral as far as feel is concerned, is there any reason NOT to take the 7450s @ $400?
