Palushaj has been hot lately for the Dogs, I wouldn't be against giving him 5-10 games on a scoring line to see what he can do... every time he's called up he's stuck playing on the 4th line.

when Gomez is back something like:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Palushaj
Bourque - Desharnais - Cole
Moen - Eller - Kostitsyn
Blunden - Gomez - Nokeleinen

Gorges-Subban
Emelin-Diaz
Gill-Weber-Kaberle

That's what I'd do...

But I'd also find a way to get rid of Gomez, Gionta (I know he's injured), Gill, Campoli and Kaberle.
Cmon say what you want but Kaberle has 9 points in 14 games with the Habs. Diaz really ?

If we're talking when Bourque is back I would go:

Bourque-Eller-Kostitsyn (big line)
Pacioretty-Gomez/Desharnais-Cole (pretty big line)
Moen-Plekanec-Leblanc (pretty big line)
Darche-Noke-Blunden (4th line)

The centers can be shifted around imo. I would stick Moen with Plek immediately and lessen his minutes and give him Leblanc, put Plek out in key defensive situations. I'm not a Gomez fan but I also think he could bounce back and since nobody will take him and we're tanking right now I wouldn't mind giving him another shot. DD/Patches/Cole haven't had much success lately anyways, I don't blame DD for that mind you, but I do remember Patches-Gomez-Gionta was okay at a time, maybe Patches-Gomez-Cole could work. I'd imagine Cole is the type of player who could benefit from some slick passing.

I actually think LL could be a 3rd line fit already and continue developing, and I was in the camp who originally wasn't that high on Leblanc. If he doesn't become a 2nd liner I'd be shocked. In some ways he reminds me of Alex Tanguay.

If I were to guess;

Gomez - Plekanec - Blunden
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole
Moen - Eller - Kostitsyn
Darche - Nokelainen

Gorges - Subban
Emelin - Diaz
Gill - Weber
Kaberle

What I would do;

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Cole
Desharnais - Eller - Kostitsyn
Moen - Gomez - Blunden
Darche - Nokelainen

Kaberle - Gorges
Gill - Subban
Emelin - Diaz
Weber

And what I would do when Bourque returns (assuming I have to ice Gomez);

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gomez
Bourque - Desharnais - Cole
Moen - Eller - Kostitsyn
Darche - Nokelainen - Blunden

Kaberle - Gorges
Gill - Subban
Emelin - Diaz
Weber*

* Scratch Darche if you want to dress 7 defenseman.
The only problem with what you would do is that on the 3rd line you have a passer centering a line and no wingers to pass it to

Frankly, I would not suite up Gomez and call back Leblanc who fitted well in that team not long ago. Bury Gomez in the minors? That would be my preference.....but....at 7M, I doubt management will see it that way....

That is actually not bad at all......except that I would exclude Gomez ...for the rest....this looks good.....I hope this summer they trade Gionta (and Gomez if any foolish GM would take him)......and add younger players to the mix.....

Yeah don't get me wrong I don't blame anyone not wanting Gomez but he's here and likely to stay until the year ends. Might as well try to get him going, who knows maybe if he plays well some mickey mouse org will take a run at him

I love the Moen-Eller-AK line but I'd be really curious to that. Might just be a Kostitsyn-chemistry thing but if Eller actually does voodoo magic on enigmatic power-wingers this could be a really good line. If it doesn't work put Moen back with them.

I might prefer the second lineup because I like the DD-Cole chemistry and I think Patches was pretty good with Plek in the few games they got together. Maybe DD on the wing and Gomez at center? Anyway the lines have changed so much this season, it's pretty hard to make predictions. Just don't break Eller-AK.

Where the hell is Diaz..

EDIT: Might have been a therapy day. At least that's what I understand from my little bit of French knowledge.

Wonder where Diaz slides in there.

Yup, therapy day. And boy do I feel bad for Plekanec getting stuck with Blunden... ugh... hopefully they double shift Cole/Kostitsyn in his place for most of the game and keep Blunden on the 4th.

as of Sunday (and assuming we don't suffer any more injuries btw now/then) that's how I'd roll the lines to start.

Use Pleks line as mainly a match-up line vs opposition top lines, and rely on the "2nd/3rd" lines for offensive spark. double shift Cole on the Pleks line at times.

4th line can hopefully take advantage of other team 4th lines by being much quicker and more dangerous offensively.
Bourque is a LW.

Your line are very questionable.

I am pretty sure RC will keep the lines the way they are now.

MaxPac - DD - Cole
Moen- Eller- A.K.
Bourque - Pleks - Blunden or Gomez
Darche-Noke or Gomez - Weber or Blunden.

If he would have the guts to take Gill out of the d-corp

Gorges - Subban
Emelin-Weber
Kaberle-Diaz

The funny thing is, by far, Blunden was our best forward yesterday.

No, a smaller injury prone, inconsistent and soft guy who is more than 2 years removed from a 30 goal season is not worth that much in the NHL. A 2nd round pick and a 20 odd goal guy is a pretty solid return. Especially when you look at the cap savings. At a glance it seems like just 2.7 but because in Cammalleri's place in the line up you have a 3.3 player and it's a world of difference.

I think Gomez will be gone next year someway, I keep hearing about this one time buy out for free period so I'll stick to that.

Then suddenly you have a pretty good core group of guys and some cap space to burn.
Also I am not the biggest Gionta fan but he's a guy who can and will pot goals and he also gives it his all every night.

I really like this team next year, even with Gomez and one of him or Desharnais moving to the wing. But without him...suddenly there's a whole bunch of leeway and the habs are going to get some assets between now and the end of February too. There's no way they're going to sit Weber or Diaz and play guys like Gill and Campoli. It just makes no sense. Put out some offers for Kaberle too, the Canes panicked and the Habs don't need to trade him (I'm fine with him in the line up, it's a shorter deal and he'll put up the numbers. I'd be ecstatic if Emelin could adjust to playing on his offside and play him and Kaberle together.

Lines for Saturday:

Moen-Eller-Kostitsyn
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gomez
Cole-Plekanec-Leblanc/Palushaj (one game call up for one of them)
Blunden-Noekaleinnienian-Darche

I would have liked to have seen a line with Cammalleri and Eller and Kostitsyn be given the reins to go for a while. I will never understand why that wasn't given a chance. C'est la vie though.

I really don't understand how people still hate Gomez?! We've never been this bad with him in the line up. It's clear as day that we're missing him. His passing ability, and puck carrying are much needed with so many stone hands in our lineup (Pac, Cole, Moen, Blunden, Darche, Nokes, Gill). I can't wait for him to get back, we need him if we have any chance to go on a run. And he's got balls too, you always see him getting in players' faces and not taking crap from anyone.

Cole- desharnais - pacioretty
Moen- plekanec - blunden
Gomez- nokelainen- darche( sigh)

Or keep moen with eller, bourque with pleks and gomez? I just dont know anymore
