Just curious what you guys are basing this on? Hawks fans have made it very clear how important he is to their team.

what a terrible attempt at the "i have a source" route...

total hogwash
Is that so? So only Regier and Pegula (and probably the Pegula family) would know? The coaches and players wouldn't?

It's funny I remember about 6-7 years ago running into Jason Peters and J.P Losman as the casino here and Losman said "off the record" that Buffalo were trying to work out a deal with Detroit to acquire Roy Williams by trading Losman (and Jason Peters said the Bills were low balling him on his contract). Did that Losman trade ever happen no. But he knew Buffalo was trying to trade him for Williams.

And once again for the final time. I DID NOT make this up... an Anaheim-Buffalo trade seems more realistic and unless Anaheim really wanted Hemsky more than Boyes it seems weird weird that Buffalo would include Edm (instead of making two seperate trades to get Getzlaf and Gagner).

yes you did

IF in some way you got ANY information, it was the basis of a deal... you did not get the details down to over 10 assets across 3 teams.

of course i don't believe you got any information at all. but that was an attempt at giving you the benefit of the doubt

and the Losman anecdote was quite entertaining... im sure you guys are pals, or he just randomly hands out "off the record" information to strangers....

It's posted as a rumor. He's not claiming it's more than that. People do hear things. I also have a few friends that were former Sabres brass, and while I haven't heard anything, I haven't asked. I did hear some rumblings last year about figuring out a way to snag Shea Weber in the next year or so, but obviously nothing thus far. It's probably not true, this rumor, but hey people do hear stuff and it's interesting to at least think about.

I hope this trade goes down so bad, not even for the Sabres, just so when it gets posted I can make you eat crow for your posts right here. But you know what Jame unless it happens or something gets posted that it could of happened I'm going to take the flack for it period. So you can either accept that I heard it or you don't thats up to you.... I've made trade proposals before, still will down the line..... but as much as this is clearly a trade proposal it's not one that I made and it came from someone within the organization (which means this was atleast discussed).

no one "hears a rumor" with that much detail. it's a dead troll give away.

if you came along with your shea weber rumor and said, "hey, I heard the Sabres were putting together a plan to pursue Shea Weber"... we probably still wouldn't believe you without sources, but atleast you wouldn't sound like a troll. That's a "plausible" rumor that someone could catch from a friend/insider/whatever...

Now if you came along and said:
I heard this rumor:

It's a 3 team deal
To Buffalo:
Shea Weber
Cody Hodgson

To Vancouver:
Thomas Vanek
Ryan Suter
Brad Boyes

To Nashville:
Buf 1st
Van 2nd
Tyler Ennis
Drew Stafford
David Booth
Keith Ballard

Well, then we'd all point and laugh at you for claiming knowledge of such specifics in such a big deal

Is this what happens to the boards once the bottom falls out on the season? Unsubstantiated rumors and new posters with no credibility defending them?
Jeesh.

me too.

but the fact that you'd rather see it go down so that you could "be right" is dead giveaway #3.

if there are sources within the organization giving away the specific details of trades to people like yourself... i hope they get fired, and we get some professionals in the building.

Ok, by that logic if Joe Blow calls in on WGR and asks why they don't trade Gragnani and a 3rd for Rick Nash, then some moron comes on here reporting it as a rumour saying he heard it from somewhere its now a rumour? Jame is right, the guy definitely made it up. Players rarely know about the details of trade talk, and if they did they certainly don't tell just anyone they see about it
