Daniel gets his 700th career point, 100th career PP goal, and Luongo ties McLeans franchise win record.
All thanks to the same (OT) goal. Pretty amazing.

Congrats to Sedin and Luongo, some nice milestones.

To specify: Luongo ties Kirk McLean for first overall with 211 career wins as a Vancouver Canuck.

Also Daniel's now tied with Giroux for total points.

I'm happy.

But the rest of the NHL fans could probably care less.

On a side note. I wonder if Daniel will reach 1000 points.

meh, 6 straight wins by a goalie gets a thread.

besides, I posted it mainly because it was kinda ridiculous to hit 3 milestones (for 2 different players) on one goal.

I think Daniel also either tied or is now ahead of Morrison for most overtime goals in Canuck history (vaguely remember Shorthouse saying something about that)

I like the idea of getting a new stick when it breaks instead of just standing around like a pylon, but Oshie can't be doing that down 4 on 3 against the best power play in the league. Congrats to Daniel and Roberto.

Ya bad change but his players on his bench were calling him off. Maybe it was a mixed message though, in the highlights you can hear the blues bench yelling Oshie to come.

Anyways congrats Daniel and Lou!!

I don' think these are main-board thread-worthy. Even as a Canuck fan I don't feel that strongly about it.

Does every guy who scores 100 points every year get a new thread whenever they hit another century mark?

this I would agree with. Using the logic that went into making this thread, there could be threads like this for nearly every team every night

Maybe the individual accomplishments aren't thread worthy for anyone who's not a Canucks fan, but I actually think the fact that 3 different milestones were hit as a result of one goal is kind of neat. Congrats to Daniel and Luongo!

I dont undersand why people dont this is thread worthy.. it's a discussion forum.. discussing hockey related things.. Both Luongo and Sedin is among better players in the league

congrats to both

31 years old and 700th career points, it's ok. ;-)

The Twins are increadibly underrated, almost ridiculous.

They need a cup or two before becoming truly legendary though.

The Twins winning the NHL scoring title for the third time in a row is very likeable though, the question is who?

300 points to go. Say 90 points/year in 2.5 seasons more and they are both there.

Unless they get injuried both Sedins will pass 1000 pts pretty easily.

He/they can slow down significantly and still reach 1000. The question is if they can surpass Lidstrom(currently 1131pts) to become #2 and #3 all-time among Swedes before everything is said and done.

Those two guys will be great in 7-8 years as well, maybe longer. They don´t rely on skating or physical play but more on vision and technical skill. Injury problems is the only thing that can stop them from being star players in the future as well, but they have very rarely been injured throughout their careers so far.

The Sedins play a style that is conducive to longevity. Henrik, in fact, is one of the league's current top iron men (some 500 games or so). Neither of them have had any serious injuries.

It's only been the last few years that they've emerged as elite players, mostly because they both embark on rigorous off-season training and they are always looking to improve themselves year after year. On top of that, the Sedins play a brand of hockey I would classify as "crafty". They come up with new tricks, techniques and tactics every year. They see the game different than everyone else and they seek to exploit opponents not through skill or physicality, but through intelligence. This style of play is very favorable toward long careers.

Sure, they are 32 now, but if all goes well, it's entirely conceivable that they can continue to put up 100+ point seasons for the next 4-5 years, simply because of the way they play. Personally, I don't think they've even peaked yet.
