He makes so many great moves its so easy to lose track of them all. I wish Turco was still in the league, Datsyuk drove him nuts. I loved his game tieing assist last fall against the flames with a few seconds left.
I think Pier McGuiere mentioned him in the game vs the Bruins.
I also think Datsyuk is the best/hottest player in the league last 20-30 games.
Datsyuk scoring at this season:
First 16 games: 2+8=10 points
Latest 28 games: 11+28=39 points
Keeping up the point ratio from the latest 28 games:
Remaining 36 games: 15+35=50 points
If this happens, he would end up 28 goals + 71 assists = 99 points in 81 games.

I really think the Lokomotiv/Salei incident bothered him at start of the season. He wasn't mentally himself. This is just my own speculation, but when we had the roadtrip to California, he changed immediately. I'm quite sure that he met Salei's family there and gave his #24 pre-season jersey them or something, and finally got over all the sad feelings. He just changed like somebody had turned a switch. And he has been on a beast mode after that. There's has been only 4 games without Pavel on the scoresheet after that.
This play I talk about is at 8:25 and 15:48 of this video clip.
That play is in a regular season game vs the Avs in 2002, March 23rd. The game is listed in the NHL vault as a classic if you want to watch it, the same game Shanahan scored his 500th goal. I think it's sometime in the late of the 2nd period.

I'm current;ly at an all-inclusive resort in mexico, with my girlfriend.....having a great time, great weather, unlimited drinks, food, beach, sun......
My girl wanted to go to dinner.....as did i.....
but not before i watched EVERY SINGLE CLIP from this thread, which i have seen NUMEROUS times before. i can't describe my love for pavel....He is far and away my favorite human being n the planet other than my family and friends - and he even trumps some of them!!!
as delusional as it sounds, i wouldnt trade pavel for crosby + malkin, or both sedins + kessler, or any other combination of players in the league. People talk about toews and his intangibles, but datsyuk puts up points....wins selke's, and still has a "je ne sais quoi" about him that is unmatchable.

I wouldn't trade Datsyuk for a prime Fedorov simply because of loyalty.
Does anyone find it laughable that Jonathan "Never hit a PPG" Toews is getting MVP talk but Datsyuk isn't? It's those intangibles!
We should probably start an online Datsyuk for Hart campaign... if the player isn't the leading scorer it's all about media hype.
Laughable?
Toews is an obvious candidate. That face-off win against datsyuk for the tying goal was an example of his value.
I am all for datsyuk as Hart winner. But The wings suck at marketing their players. I heard Paul woods, radio guy, calling Zetterberg the best player in hockey. When that kind of nonsense comes out of the wings media, there is not much chance of a datsyuk for hart campaign.

What kind of marketing is being done for Toews exactly? Besides hearing it once on Sirius XM home ice I haven't heard much of anything else.
I also don't think Toews winning _a_ faceoff really shows an example of his value. Darren Helm wins a lot of important defensive zone faceoffs too.
But for the record, I think Toews will be and should be a Hart candidate, I just don't think he should win. IMO it's either Claude Giroux or Datsyuk.
