Datsyuk's standard.

His last 5-10 games were not Datsyuk-like.

Finally a goal for Datsyuk and a great game by Datsyuk. Obviously he was fired up for this game (Flyers) and he had a very strong game.

Looks like his hand has healed again. 21 minutes ice-time, 20 faceoffs with 60% winning percentage and shooting like a mad-man.

It's amazing. You can absolutely track the guy to his injuries. If he's 100% then he plays like a beast. If his hands are disabled, he's still okay but clearly not the magician we know and love.

One thing is always true though, he's never not giving it his all.

i don't think he has returned to his usual level. after today's game, babcock said he did not think datsyuk played his best.

not as dynamic, not controlling play as usual, looks slower and is falling down a lot.

Datsyuk, on falling in the corner: "I think a sniper shoot me in the leg in the corner and I fall"

That Z-D-H (Hudler instead of Homer!) line was pretty damn sweet. Especially with Kronwall who was pinching in and getting active.

Hudler looked better on that line, Datsyuk was his amazing self, Z looked just happy to be back with his twin.

But what do people think of putting Filp back on center between Bert and Franzen? Seem weak? I'd be interested to see if the confidence Filp has gotten translates well into a center position and he can make it work. I think he can. He can be the pivot. We saw that while he was on the wing and he was consistently one of our best forwards. If he can hold down that line, I would looooove to keep Z-D-H. So much fun watching 3 super smart hockey sense guys just rocking a defensively tight team like Nashville.

I kind of think that this might be his best season.

I don't think so.

We've seen better from him.

But his sheer persistance in being so good at both ends have kind of grinded down the opposition.

And his ability to be annoyingly good even when he plays his worst game is staggering.

really?

he was easily better in '09, imo.

if he had not been injured in that collision with toews, it could be (i don't think so), but he has been quite a lot worse since then.

I have a hunch he's going to have his best playoffs. Therefor I keep on saying that this might be his best season.

It's really difficult to imagine he could be better than he was during last year's playoffs...which was probably the best playoff performance I have seen, ever, from a Red Wing—even if it was truncated

Have to agree with you. Datsyuk was God on skates last year.

Posts like this don't fit your new avatar.

But seriously, I love the new avatar. My girlfriend is terrified I'm going to become Larry David as I age.
