Checked a few pages back and couldn't find a JVR injury thread, so.
Flyers beat writer Randy Miller (https://twitter.com/#!/RandyJMiller) just tweeted:
I can tell you for certain that injury reported on JVR absolutely is wrong. That's all I'm at liberty to say.
So I asked Randy if it was a different injury or if JVR's healthy.
Here's what he replied:
@ViktorAllvin different
@ViktorAllvin JVR should be commended for what he's provided. Trust me on this.
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren's statement on forward James van Riemsdyk:
"James was hit in the head in each of our last two games. He reported yesterday, not feeling like himself. He will be out indefinitely with a concussion."
Further details to follow...

I'm just going to go ahead and throw this out there... Randy says it isn't a hip injury and that if JVR were to sit, he might not be better in time for the playoffs so...:
-JVR winces / grimaces when he really opens up his stride and seems reluctant to do it.
-His play has taken a significant hit
-This all happened after he was out w/ what was called an abdominal injury
Does this not totally reek of the Versteeg situation last year? The way JVR is playing @ this point looks exactly like how Versteeg played for us last year after his injury. I can't believe no-one else sees it. I mentioned earlier that I thought this could in fact be a sports hernia that is ailing JVR.
And with this latest tweet by Miller confirming that it is in fact a serious injury but isn't a hip impingement as rumored, I think it has to be a sports hernia.

Yep, that's it. van Riemsdyk didn't lose a drop of his truculence. No sir!
We NEED Luke Schenn... once they are united on one team, they chant an incantation from some book and they become UNSTOPPABLE. It was all foretold in the Schenn Prophecy.

Two Schenns to rule them all...
They'll be like the Winchester brothers, standing up to the Bruins apocalypse.
I would rather them hold on to JVR, he isn't doing that badly while injured. I think, if we trade him and he gets healthy... we are going to be kicking ourselves.
I think he looked good last week, too. But that was after the extend rest of 3-4 days around the holidays.
Let's see how he looks now that they're back on a regular grind. IMO he's looked injured all year. I've seen him lack the burst I know he has on plenty of occasions so far.

heard two weeks ago he was playing with some type of an abdominal tear
JVR himself politely declines to discuss any injuries. Depending on whom you believe, however, he either is dealing with a knee injury or hip issue as well as the small oblique muscle tear that caused him to miss time in November.
What is known is this: He was on a 30-goal pace before the abdominal injury and has really struggled since returning.
Because JVR apparently has good days and bad days with whatever is ailing him -- and that's not uncommon -- he's trying to play through it.
he's def injured, there is no doubt in my mind. honestly it doesn't matter to me if its his groin, hip the abdominal tear still bothering him. Flyers WILL regret a L. Schenn for JVR swap
