Pick a small player

If you had to chose one to go forward with, who provides the most skill set?

Conacher has shown the ability to score in the NHL and provide energy.

Pageau has shown the ability to provide poise around the net and excel with talent.

Da Costa has shown the ability to play in the tough areas and something.

Pageau no doubt. Although Conacher could have me eating crow in a year.

Although I don't get this thread...

Pageau and even Conacher play bigger than 90% of our team so they are technically not a "small player."

Also, since when is being 5'11 180+ pounds small? Wtf.

Conacher looks like a good scoring winger but Pageau looks like a core center.

Pageau.

He is a warrior. Surprisingly physical for a small player. Doesn't shy away from the dirty areas.

It seemed like it was hard for opposing teams to knock Pageau away from the puck last year. I was always surprised when he'd go in the corner and more often than not come out with the puck while battling with bigger more experienced players.

I'd really like to vote Conacher. I'm pretty high (hahah) on him. But if we're looking towards the future, I think Pager's ceiling is a bit higher.

It's obviously early and I like all 3 guys.

I guess, in my limited amount of time seeing all of them, I like Pageau's combination of skill and hockey sense.

He seems to have a really good hockey IQ.

He also has a ton of heart. Conacher has heart too, but doesn't use that passion and fight intelligently like Pageau.

Da Costa is a career AHL'er so he is obviously out of the mix.

I think Conacher and Da Costa are similar type of players. Pageu is a step above.

Both Conacher and Pageau are going to huge pieces of this team going forward. Size means nothing when you play the game the right way. (I'd throw Prince in there as well.)

I'm sorry but I've never seen Da Costa drive the net or play the corners like Conacher does. There's a reason one is in the NHL right now and the other is not; they play nothing alike. (And I love Da Costa's game btw)

Well maybe there are some more recent statistics but it seems that that is around 2 inches and 20 lbs below average.

Quote:
Shortest team: New York Islanders - Average height 72.55" (6' 1/2")
Tallest team: Washington Capitals - Average height 74.76" (6' 2 1/2")
Lightest team: Carolina Hurricanes - Average weight 198.23 lbs
Heaviest team: Atlanta Thrashers - Average weight 210.96 lbs

(All data was collected from NHL.com's active rosters on October 14th, 2010)

5'11 180 lbs seems more like the average size of a CHL player.

Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Crosby, Alfredsson, Mike Richards, Duchene

Are all small right? Right? They are all same height and up to 10-15 pounds heavier, that's all. He is 185 btw.
