Tire easy on new skates

So here is my ordeal..I had picked up a pair of ccm u+ 06 '11s a few months back in a size 8..great skate but I knew I could get into a 7.5 so I decided to get the vapor x3.0s which are in the same price range of the u+s..I have worn them on the ice 4 times and one thing I notice is I tire out way quicker..the ccms had a stiffer boot..I no longer tie my laces around my ankle so my stride has changed a bit as my ankle can flex forward now..is it all in my head..softer ice because its been a bit warmer or was changing to the 3.0s a big step backwards?

I know they are not high end but I just play pickup and at the outdoors now days

It's probably because you just aren't used to them yet. Or maybe it has to do with the hollow on your skates. Newer CCM steel is narrower, meaning there will be less of a hollow as opposed to Bauer if they are sharpened at the same depth. More hollow = cuts deeper in the ice and requires more effort to skate, making you tired faster.

You may be on to something..when I first got them I think the skate sharpener was configured for a goalie skate because the first time I got on the ice I had no edges and my skates were not biting the ice at all..I had them sharpened again the next day which maybe made the hollow to deep..I remember thinking they were too sharp when I got back on the ice
