I'd have Saad as #1 personally, but otherwise a pretty good list.

Gonna move all this talk to its own thread as it is something that IMO deserves its own thread

Surprised Brad didn't post it himself

Also dont agree with Saad at #2 / McNeill at #1 ,, Outside of that no real issues with his rankings

Though I would move Hayes/Danault ahead of both Beach/Shaw and would have had G Johan Mattson in Paradis spot

I think on my last prospect list I had McNeill ahead of Saad as well, so I agree with that.

I also think that Danault should be higher...like 7th.

Switch Saad and McNeill, Paradis and Matsson and this'll be a pretty accurate list IMO.

I kinda thought that as well, but Shaw will probably end up like Ben Smith last year and then he'll be at the bottom of the bucket like Smith.

Am I crazy for thinking Hayes and Pirri could swap spots?

Shaw's great and I've liked him since we drafted him. But he's not a top 5 prospect type.

If Bowman were to give us his top 5 - it wouldn't shock me if McNeill isn't on the list. Of course, he would never publicly admit his most recent top draft pick isn't in the top 5.

I'll go with...

1) Saad
2) Morin
3) Jayes
4) Danault
5) Olsen/Johns <--- either or

Saad at his worst this year was better than McNeil at his best.

Biggest surprise for me is how low Holl is.

I'd have him much higher as well, certainly above Lalonde.

I am basing this solely on the WJC, but that said, I thought Nordstrom was very impressive (far more so than Rensfeldt). I also like Stephen John's size and (pro-style) game over Clendening. Good list overall.

Pretty happy Mattson made the cut, though it's a little weird that Mattsson didn't.

Nick has been pretty good for North Dakota this year. Steadily improving in every aspect of the game since he was drafted, though there are still very reasonable doubts if he ever makes the big show.

Now that I think of it why is Lalonde even on the list?

What exactly does he bring of quality?

This may be true, but I think McNeill will be the better player in the NHL and that's what these lists are based off of, not current production.

K Hayes is way too low. Holl and Paradis also too low. I'd put Saad higher than McNeill but these are all subjective anyways.

What do you base this on? I'm sure you see McNeill more than I do being in Canada - so you can fill me in here.

What i saw in the summer tourny, prospect camp, etc,....McNeill looked kind of lazy. Reminded me a bit of Kyle Beach.

I just have it in my head that the guy lives off his size advantage in juniors, and will drown when things even up. That's why I don't have him in the top 5. I'm kind of expecting him to be a bust.

*M. Kruger, D. Olsen, J. Hayes were players that I had ranked in my prospects. I do not consider them locks to make the team next year.

** I dropped A. Clendening because I thlought he could have been better for the U.S. at WJC

M. Shalunov has been good of late and I like his size. He could easily be ranked in our top 20 but I was unrealistic to have him as high as I did.

Overall I thought the list of the new top 20 was very accurate. The only 2 surprises was McNeill at #1 and A. Clendening as high as he currently is projected. Clendening should be one slot below A. Shaw for sure.
