Giants play good, better than I expected. Manningham will get a good contract as FA...

The NFC West is complete garbage. The Niners are the only team worth a crap in the entire division.

NFC west = 30-34 combined. NFC central= 36-28. Both divisons had one really bad team, 2 average teams, and 1 great team.

Maybe I should have phrased it as Harbaugh isn't doing everything like media is portraying

The Talent was there ,, Singletary was just horrid coach

Harbaugh has done well but the team was already pretty good as far as talent when he took over

As for Bears part ,, If Cutler didn't go down the Bears were cruising. Falcons/Lions one of them would have been on outside looking in

As for SB

I would like to see NYG vs Bal

You're understating Harbaugh as a coach. The guy did the same thing at Stanford.

Martz poised to retire.

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story...martz-retiring

Can't say I'm surprised, there was nothing left in the NFL for him. The only reason the bears picked him up is because he and lovie knew eachother.

Not surprised either, actually. Was expecting him to go back to college, but seems like the halfway attractive head coaching gigs were filled up pretty quickly, so his only options were to go to a lesser school or accept an assistant coaching slot with another NFL team, neither of which I think he was at all interested in.

I really don't think any NFL team was going to touch him. He had to get reined in by lovie the past two seasons because he was going full re. His rigidity has been completely exposed, and his only shot at an NFL job would have been with some crappy team hoping to put butts in the seats with an offense that passes the ball 50 times a game and still finishes in the bottom half in yards and points scored.

Great point, and he also did it in his first head coaching stop at San Diego State. Coaching's in that family's blood. The dad was a coach, both brothers are now coaches and are coaches of successful teams. The guy's a great coach, and while the media always blows things out of proportion it can't be denied the impact he's had in San Francisco. It's not a coincidence.

yea, regardless of the talent they have, he still turned a 6 win team into a 13 win team in one season and alex smith into a legitimate starting qb when everyone in the world regarded him as a bust on par with Leaf. They also beat one of the SB favorites in the playoffs.

The Bears and Lions > The Cardinals and Seahawks. The Rams are the worst team in football.

Bears just inked Dave Toub to a 2 year contract extension. That, at least, is good news, and keeps one aspect of this team that has been working well on track.

I just read that Tice will be interviewing for the Head Coaching job for the Raiders. Not sure that he would get it, he was in over his head as HC in Minny and he has said so himself, but its interesting he was asked to be interviewed.

The ironic thing is, I'd only miss him as an O-Line coach. I do believe he took a POOR O-Line and made them better than they probably should be, and on this team, that would be missed. I'm not at all sold on him being our OC/Running Game coach. That one he will have to prove to me on the field, I'm skeptical at best.

Wouldn't it be funny, though, if Tice goes to the Raiders, and we end up interviewing and hiring Hue Jackson as our OC completing a coach swap? Don't laugh, Hue did a really good job with the offense in Oakland, taking them from near the bottom to having respectable numbers...

No desire to have Jackson here in Chicago especially his ego (He went on massive power trip that helped get him fired in Oakland)
