And trade Forte, it's a clear as day. RBs can be replaced. 1st round picks don't grow on trees.
Pro Bowl all around RB's dont grown on tree's either. Took Bears almost 25 yrs to draft one

Also

Pro Bowl RB > 1st (Half of which bust)

Forte is a great player but our positions of need are going to be difficult if not near impossible to fill without high picks that count. I'd rather worry about replacing Forte than the offensive line or defensive backfield. You have two 1sts, you can use one on a wideout and one for another need position. Bring in a good all around back in the 2nd, maybe go for a speed guy in the 4th or 5th. Sign a solid vet as well and I wouldn't be that worried about RB.

You don't need a pro bowl running back to win in the NFL. Plus Forte made a lot of his yards off of check down passes because or receivers are terrible. There would have been over 20 1,000 yard backs this year in the NFL without injuries (Mendenhall, Forte, Peterson, Jackson, Murray). You can find running backs.

That's insane. 1,000 yards used to mean something, now everyone does it.

It's not like we're anywhere close to the salary cap. Realistically, the return you get for Forte likely won't turn out as good as Forte, so why would you trade him?

Top 15 picks are highly coveted. You need to fill lots of holes and running backs are a dime a dozen. If you draft correctly, a top 15 pick + Forte's replacement will be greater than Forte.

If you draft correctly. You realize this is the Bears right?

yeah, I don't worry about the draft this year. I've read quotes from bears scouts that they wanted this or that guy but JA took the guy he wanted. They are happy that he is gone too.

In other words, we can't do worse and with a Top15 and #19 we would get at least 1 good Player. Forte can be replaced when we get a #1 WR and another WR for depth

but before that happens, we should talk to Forte again. And he wants too much money.

Its either a long term, big money deal or a one year franchise, Forte isn't going to take a short term deal.

Phil Emery seems to be the frontrunner (GM).

GBs OC Philbin will leave them to become the Phins HC

It's typical, of all the people interviewed, the least impressive to me (by their history/resumes) would have been Emery or Ruskell, and grumblings are it will be either one of those two. Very typical. Hope the grumblings are wrong...

Emery is the guy with the most experience. He worked for many teams (more than Ross) and has seen different styles of this work.

I'm not against him and he knows some of the scouts.

Plus he's a college scouting director guy which is what they need. We don't need another pro-personel person beecoming the GM.

Was hoping for Baltimore but now that the Pats took it, I have to root for the NYG tonight for the rematch. It'd be a fantastic game... plus I strongly dislike the Patriots and feel that the Giants have the best chance to take them down.

Nice chokejob by the Ravens there. First Lee Evans catches the go ahead td pass in the final minute, but let's the Pats defender swat it out of his hands. Then they miss the 32 yard chip shot FG to send it to OT.

Glad to see it though. I'm rooting for a Pats/Giants rematch.

Why on 3rd and 1 with 2 timeouts don't you run it and get 3 more shots at the end zone?

lol I can already see ESPN blaming this on Flacco. Guaranteed they start talking about him not seeing open receivers and ****.

He was throwin dimes all day while dealing with all sorts of pressure for most of the game. I'd feel pretty comfortable if he were my qb. Not the best guy in the nfl, but he can win you games(assuming your receivers can catch). He probably throws the prettiest passes in the league.

Also, if this game had been broadcast in black and white, I would have sworn I was watching a bears game. That management in the 4th quarter was simply awful. Add in the dropped passes and horrible playcalling and it looked exactly like the mike martz bears.
