Mammoth forward John Grant Jr just won his second consecutive NLL Offensive Player of the Week Award. Team mate Adam Jones also received the NLL Rookie of the Week.
Good stuff happening for this team for the first time in a few years. Hopefully we can get to 4-0 against Rochester this Saturday.
Lotsa talk that Jack Del Rio could replace Dennis Allen as D-coordinator. I would be in favor of that.
ummm HELL YEAH. Del Rio's an awesome coach!
Also, I gotta admit....I'm starting to become a basketball/Nuggets fan again. This team is awesome, underrated, and doesn't have a bunch of egotistical overrated selfish ******* thugs anymore. They're great to watch and they finally fit the type of team George Karl would want.

Del Rio's pretty good...just hope for once in seven freaking years we might actually hold onto a defensive coordinator. My only reluctance with him was his complete and total flameout in Jacksonville. It's like he almost sabotaged himself just to get out of the job.
As for the Nuggets, good for them. Unfortunately I still find the NBA as a whole to be unpalatable. So long as the Heat choke again this year I'll be happy.
As you probably noticed the Nuggets signed Gallinari to a 4-yr extension worth 42M$.
When I read this I was happy with it as I really liked what I've seen from him but I'm everything but an expert in terms of basketball and especially the NBA and I can't evaluate if that's a good deal for the Nuggets.
Is he worth this amount of money?

Honestly do you blame him though. Crappy fans, crappy ownership, crappy town. He tried for 9 years and never had that much success. You can only get beaten down so much before you've had enough. Al and Dmac did bring up a good point about Del Rio though, he would be the guy looking to move on to a pro or college HC job right away. We'd just be a layover for a season or two.
The biggest mistake Jacksonville ownership made was passing on Tim Tebow. Even if they continued to suck they would have sold out every game just for him. Now they will be fighting the Rams and Chargers for the right to move to LA.

I don't understand why the nugs can extend players contracts during the season yet the avs still has the policy of waiting til the end of the season. Is it because of PL?

I knew someone would bring that up. Couple reasons...
1. As you nailed it different management, obviously Nuggs management team feels like extending players early to get it out of the way. Avs have always waited until the last second to negotiate, thats just how it is for them. I can't recall the Avs ever re-signing a player mid-season.
2. This year especially is tricky for Avs management with the CBA coming up. They got destroyed last time (and quite frankly were the only team that was destroyed), and are going to be overly cautious. I for one really think that the salary cap is going to go down not a ton, but I think you will be looking at a lower cap and the Avs will work based off of CBA negotiations.
