Sens can afford to make a deal like this...Turris and Ryan being young having the likes of Zibby and Silf coming up and Noesen,Prince,Stone and Boro,Gryba,Lehner they still will have a deep system...We can offer a better package then the Leafs...
The Ducks get a good young improving player a solid scoring prospect and a mid first round pick and save money off the cap..
i love how people think that teams will always overpay...
Foligno is the centerpiece, Foligno has a career average of 33 points a season. That isn't the type of centerpiece we'll be looking for Ryan. He's a solid player, but as a centerpiece for a trade to get Ryan? Not going to happen.
Matt Puempel is a good looking prospect, but we could of drafted him a few months ago if we wanted to, but we traded down instead.
And the 1st at the moment is looking like it's going to be around the 20th overall mark.
trust me alot of sens fans wont do this....thats 3 firsts for bobby ryan...tell me what would you give....i sure as hell wouldnt give up more..
This isn't 3 firsts for Bobby Ryan.
This is:
-a 24 year old forward drafted 5 years ago in the LATE 1st round who has yet to break 20 goals or 35 points in a single season.
-a late 1st round pick who became your 5th best prospect. Thus far as an overager, he is actually scoring LESS than he did during his draft year... a little disconcerting.
-another late 1st round pick
You'd be quite lucky to move this package for a top-15 pick in this year's draft... let alone for a guy like Bobby Ryan.
if ryan gets dealt i cant wait to see the return....you will all be saying wow my team could have offered better....it wont be a huge as you all think....Like some leaf fans offering Schenn,Kadri and a first would be retarded if they did it...
Turris, 9 pts in 13 games & a plus 10, not bad for a 22year old 2nd line center, is it? Trades looking pretty good right now. Hah hah.
yeah... but you gave up the #7 rated prospect for someone who hasn't shown anything.
I don't care if he has 9 points in 13 games, he's a bust and will never be better than average.
Wait a full season before you say the trade is good for you.

I
The return will be better then what your offer is, it's not an offer for a 1st line PWF AINEC.
You have to give to get. Giving up almost nothing from your roster and expecting a first line player is unreasonable unless you give up a top notch prospect. Unfortunately nothing of what you are willing to trade has much value and Anaheim would be stupid to make the trade. Ryan is signed for a few more years and has shown nothing but happiness with his team.

LOL he's a bust because he had to endure a defensive coach who never gave him the icetime? It's like calling Kuznetsov a bust because he isn't in the NHL yet.
You realize Foligno has more points this season playing on the 3rd line with Zack Smith than Ryan playing with Getzlaf and Perry? Not saying the Ducks should do this, but it's far from a terrible proposal.

Wait a full season before saying the trade was bad for us then?

trust me some think ryan could fetch spezza/karlsson and a 1st...Its why the ducks wont trade any of the big three..No team in a cap world with an uncertain cba will give up the moon for...I dont care how great that player is...

Link?
But hey, we'll keep Ryan and you keep the players you put up in your proposal, everyone is happy
Ryan is part of the rebuild in Anaheim and they are not making the playoffs this year for sure... dont see the point here.. unless they think that Bobby Ryan is worth more than his actual price?

Why? Foligno is playing better than Ryan is right now. I think Ryan is likely better over the long term but Foligno is excellent this season. I don't understand why the Sens want to move him at all if they are giving up essentially 2 first rounders as well.
I'd say we need this year's first rounder to draft a defenceman.
