This'll be a good chance to scout Slava Voynov for the impending Hemsky trade.

I'd call it par for the course. The standards for embarrassment for this team have gone way up (or down as it were).

Sad but more and more fans are turned off by this team than ever.

The wife: "So what's the plan for tonight? Is there a game on that you're going to watch?"

Me (shoulders slumping): "Oh. ... yeah."

The wife (putting her hand on my shoulder): "Aw. I'm sorry, babe."

Sigh ....

Go, Oilers. Go.

Can you blame them? If I wasn't so entrenched in routine, I wouldn't watch the game either. Then again, I've turned off the last 2 games at least a period early.

I'll be at the game tonight, so I'll be interested to see Voynov live. I think we all know his strengths, but I'll be interested to see how well he defends and whether he looks like he will develop a solid defensive game...ever.

The Oilers won't win a game until RNH and Eberle return. They are that bad.

Strangely, the Oilers could go on a minor tear in Feb/March (if healthy) should Barker, Gilbert, RNH and Eberle be back in the line-up. They just have no depth right now.

Sounds good, I still think that LA will be one of Hemsky's top suitors. Hell maybe well see some players swap dressing rooms before the game?

I will too, and so can give my own jaded opinion of him as well. Everything I've heard about him so far sounds positive and if we can get him for Hemmer, I'm all over it.

Will look forward to your analysis.

If you could pay attention to how he is along the boards and his stick work in particular, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the GDT.

If this comes to a shootout tonight it would be nice to see Peckham out there

Wonder if the boys got any sort of feel good reaction from the skills competition yesterday and if that will hold over tonight.

And Petry, feel free to use that hard shot of yours.. (as per Gene Principe)

well, I feel the Oilers will have a good bounceback game and only lose 4-2.
I'm not going to bother to watch the game but let's hope for the best I suppose.

it is sad that the Oiler managment and ownership drove the once proud team off of a cliff.
I could live with being last once. it sucked but i could live with it. we had "HOPE" last year and I was very dissapointed the Oilers yet again sunk to the bottom.

but to stink this bad despite the management doing nothing to bolster the defense is indefensable, inexcusable, embarassing and disgusting.
No wonder Katz is being quiet about the new arena and veiled threats about moving. many of us are to the point that we wouldn't care if the team left. he lost a lot of leverage by letting the team suck so bad for so long.

Dino Baby, the owner of the team sent me, Hang10, to tell you he's sorry for our... unfortunate past. Stevie's been canned, and I am a direct line to Mr. Katz. Mr. Katz has sent me to tell you, that he would still like to honor the deal on the floor, but is interested in if you'd like to discuss prospects and picks at all? We are a selling team afterwards! I'll be at the Santa Monica Rooftop Restaurant Next Sunday at 12pm. Do you like Krystal?

Anyone bringing some pancakes to offer Penner if he ends up in the sin bin?

TSN is reporting Horcoff has waived his no trade clause over some disagreement with the team, there's some rumours floating around Edmonton, but it's all unsubstantiated.

This just in, TSN is reporting Horcoff is on file as saying that he intends to honour his no trade clause. But the team hasn't mentioned a trade to him yet. He's not aware of any trade.

TSN is now reporting a trade!
Dustin Penner, Jonathan Bernier, Colin Fraser, Derek Forbort and 2nd round pick to Edmonton

in exchange for

Ales Hemsky, Sam Gagner, Devan Dubnyk and a 5th!

Yes this is big one! No doubt the LA Kings win this trade.
