Agentsmith you need to go back to selling houses because are best player the last two games has been Stepan hands down. Just an FYI, the big free agent signing this summer Brad Richards has 2 assists in his last 18 games. That needs to change!!

I agree with Agentmith.
Hags has been one of the best Rangers: he's been the best at generating offense for the past few games.
Yes, Richards needs to step it up, but don't begin to harp on Richards like MSG the place to be does with Gaborik.
Rangers don't win in Montreal. Period. Anyone who is shocked we lost should have their head examined. We dont win in Montreal. WE DONT WIN IN MONTREAL. Rangers should just concede these 2 games every year and not even make the trip.
Should have played Lundy against the better team (TOR) and Biron against MTL. Now Biron gets the shutout. Of coursre the team is going to play harder on the first leg of a B2B...sighhhhhhh

doesnt matter. results woulda been the same. coulda had patrick Roy in net with the Gretzky/Messier Oilers in front of him, and we'd still lose this game. Ranger's can't win in Montreal. Period. End of story. Why are we even still talking about this game
I don't think we played as bad as the score suggests. We made several bad mistakes that the Habs capitalized on. We also had a lot of good chances that couldn't find the back of the net. This was one of those games where Lundqvist didn't bail us out like we're used to.
I don't know, I don't think Hags has the scoring touch to be a 60 point player.
If he had a better shot he'd be ridiculous.
Well, he did some scoring whyen having a good surrounding, but playing with Boyle and Prust really ism't the most creative line in the league... I'd like to see him with Gabs&Stephan.
The game, meh, worst I've seen this year. Like MDZ&Hagelin.

But WHYYYYYYYY? They haven't won a Stanley Cup in 20 years. We're making it sound like Montreal is the best home team in the league, and they're not. Maybe we just played like rat ****.
I think Brooks summed it up best today in his column. Wolski just does not fit the mold of this hockey club. It's just not going to work. Torts has no use or patience for players that get by on talent alone. If you're going to be one of those types of players, well you'd better be Marian Gaborik and be on pace for 40+ goals. Then again, we've all seen how Torts treats Gabby even, so Wolski really has no shot on this hockey club. This team needs Dubinsky back. That Wolski-Newbury-Rupp combo was just an absolute joke.
Montreal is a TERRIBLE team, but there's always that one place where every team has difficulty.
If it's any consolidation to those of you who are still livid, there is a 0% chance we have to play in Montreal for the playoffs. None whatsoever.
Well, we do suck this year, thats for sure. But in today's NHL, any team can win any night. I do find it odd how much success we have against you guys in our building though...Now you know how we feel about playing in New Jersey

At least you could attribute that to the fact that it's hard for them to get up playing in front of nobody. We just skate around like chickens with our heads cut off in Montreal.
It was interesting to see DZ play the right side with Staal. DZ on the right side could open up a spot for Erixon.
Last time Richards was bashed on these boards we scored in back to back games. Florida and Philly.
How often were Staal and MDZ paired? How comfortable did MDZ look on the rightside. Staa/MDZ has the potential to be a very well-balanced pairing, and allows for McD/Girardi to remain a shutdown pairing. If DZ gets comfortable on the rightside, and McIlrath can develop properly, it would free up using Sauer as a potential trade chip dow the road.
games like last night and against Ottawa are actually good for the Rangers in the sense that it reinfoces the belief system that hard work HAS to be the one and only constant.
didn't watch the game after the 1st period and I assume that was a good choice on my part.
either way, they have responded well in the past and I expect them to respond well now.
Since Torts became coach, the Rangers are 1-5-1 in Montreal (1 SOW).
Since the lockout, the Rangers are 4-8-2 in Montreal (1 SOW).
Since 2000-01, the Rangers are 8-10-2-2 in Montreal (2 ties, 2 SOL/OTL, 1 SOW)
Since the Bell Centre opened (March 16, 1996 where the Rangers played the first game there), the Rangers are 9-15-5-2 (1 OTW, 1 SOW, 5 ties, 2 SOL/OTL)
From 1990-91 to 1999-00, the Rangers were 2-13-4 in Montreal (no regulation wins).
Therefore, from 1990 to present, the Rangers have been 10-23-6-2

And let's not forget the dreaded 5-0 lead turned into a 6-5 loss game. That was great.
The only enjoyable game I can remember is the one we played on Super Bowl Sunday, I think when the Giants were in it. We had that great comeback late.
McDonagh and Girardi were as usual solid. The other defensemen did not play all that well. Bickel took the heat and a benching but he was left out to swing by the rest of his teammates on the second goal--particularly Wolski. Staal seemed to have a problem with the pace.
Subban apparently spit on MDZ. Wonder if anything will come of that.
