I'm wondering how much of the game Replacement actually watched.

If not for Quick brilliance we would've won in regulation easily.

LA basically walked in and handed us the two points and we had trouble taking it.
Normally, I agree with you.

However, look at LA's roster. Now look at ours. As you just said (a few posts up) we have an "AHL lineup". For us to beat a team that has players like Kopitar, Brown, Richards, Doughty, Johnson, Quick while we don't have Whitney, Eberle, RNH or Gilbert is very impressive.

Give credit where credits due. A win is a win. Yes, the Oilers should be better. But they aren't. Enjoy the small victories, and when the big ones come you'll be more appreciative.

I'm confused too. I thought that the Oilers played a very good game especially considering the lineup that they iced. L.A. obviously didn't bring their A game but who cares? I'm not sure what Replacement's beef is, to each their own i suppose.

They've been playing well. The only line thats going. Overall I'm still disgusted in the effort on Friday night. I expected more of a rebound after that one. Hell a public apology would be good to start.

A team should NEVER play with that little emotion on home ice.

If this club was located anywhere but in a hockey hotbed they would have trouble giving tickets away.

He's just looking for attention.

Unfortunately he is able to find no shortage of it here.

Pretty much just residual anger then about Fridays abortion of a performance on home ice against a very bad club.

I really maintain LA didn't even show up in this one. The sense I got is they were putting up very little opposition.

I'm not a win or lose kinda guy. I turn an NHL game on and I expect a higher level of competion than this bs. Neither team was adequate tonight.

Kings looked like they couldn't wait to get on the redeye. They barely showed up tonight.

I agree with all of the Petry comments. He's definitely looked more comfortable and confident lately.

I'd love to watch a game with Beerfish and Replacement. I'll even provide the liqour haha.

Totally agreed. That performance on Friday left a sour taste in my mouth too, one of the most lifeless performances that i've ever seen from the Oilers which is saying a lot considering the travesties of the last couple of seasons but they played a good game tonight which was good to see.
Hopefully they keep putting forth efforts like this even if it results in losses.

I agree with this entire post, but the bolded statement seems weird to me... you could say that about ANY losing team in the league. And at least talents like Hall keep things interesting (on most nights...)

I also don't want to take away from the win tonight. They played terribly on Friday, but played a very good game tonight. Quick had an excellent game, and anything else could have ended up with a 3-1 or 4-1 Oiler win.

Listened to the game on the radio, I only saw OT. What is this all about:

Why are Kings fans so butthurt about the penalty call in overtime?

It was so obvious.

A little OT, but IMO Penner looked pretty good tonight I find it hard to believe that he has put up those point totals if thats the way he plays every night.

I dont think Penner was very good at all.

No wonder Lombardi is pissed. Sam Gagner knocked down Penner.

Fraser couldnt stay up on his feet the entire night

We won a game against a club that didn't even bother to show up.

The game was devoid of intensity, competion, hitting, anything.

After getting blown out 5-0 the other night this is an improvement but pretty hard watching this AHL lineup.

Seriously, did you even watch the game tonight? I mean c'mon......seriously?

Are you serious? Penner was beyond useless tonight. Little Sammy Snowpants owned him on the boards in a puck battle, and he brought absolutly nothing the rest of the night. He should do the honourable thing and donate his organs to science - less the heart that he obviously doesn't have. What a waste of skin. How we ever got TWO 1sts and a 3rd out of DL remains a mystery to me.

Probably the same way he got a first, second and third out of us.

Did he at least finish his pancakes in the 2nd intermission?

Because Pecks stuck his hand out and leaned in right before the high stick..

Could have been a coincidental

Yes I am. He got knocked on his butt by a smaller man meh it happens to everyone. It was one play. He got by eye about 45sec of PP time and played probably 12-15min. Yet he should of had a penalty shot he also made some good big man moves down low and looked strong on the puck all night. Just what I saw. On a team that played like crap all night he played better than most with the exception of a 5-10 min stretch in the 3rd.

You think this was a good entertaining game people should spend 100's of bucks on?

Do people here watch any other clubs and the level of competition?

jebus Montreal is horrible but their game against the Bruins the other night was an all out war.

I think its been months since I've seen the Oilers play with any kind of intensity.

Playing 20 games/year well and sleepwalking through the rest of the schedule is bs.

People happy with this level of effort allows the club to trot out their typically pathetic product.

This is the worst club in the history of the NHL. Right here, right now.

Guess we should be happy any time we eke out a win.
