We are paying an awful lot of money to a guy that has 31 points at this time of the season!! The top end guys in the NHL have alot more than 31 points. I am pretty sure that Sather was expecting alot more at this point. Thoughts..........
This isn't a joke, by the way. I'm dead serious. Stepan has been this season what Richards should be.
Everyone said that Richards would feed Gabby energy and vice versa; one would get the other going and he'd give it right back. That obviously isn't close to what the case is. I think Richards needs to work on his aggressiveness and positioning. I barely feel him on the ice when I watch a game.
I am tired of people saying that he does other things for this team. He is paid to put up points. If he plays 75-80 games this year he is on pace for his worst season as a pro. They did not pay him this kind of money to put uo 50 points and be a mentoer. He needs to get his ass put on the bench or start producing!! He has 0 points in his last 5 games and that is unacceptable.

And that makes up for the fact that he has performed nowhere near up to his standards and is a turnover machine? There's no magic on off switch here. If he doesn't get it going in the regular season, it's not likely he will when things tighten up in the playoffs.
Richards has 2 assists in his last 18 games. I thought that this was the reason that he was so hyped. Please tell me that some of you are not defending these stats? Lets not **** ourselfs, Sather did not think that Stepan would lead this team in assists and lead all forwards with a plus 15 and have the same amount of points Richards does at this point in the season. He needs to show me alot more for me to justify this kind of money because at this point of the season he has been a bust for me!!
Hey Broadway, the contract only gets more expensive from here. 2 assists in his last 18 games are you happy with those numbers? They did not even mention his name tonight other than the Pre game interview with him. He was a ghost again tonight and has been for the last five for sure. He does not have a point in 5 games. As far as i am concerned when he starts putting up 12-14 assists every 18 games i will reconsider my thoughts. Until then bust for me!!

Ok, there's zero doubt he hasn't met expectations. Anyone who says he's meeting expectations doesn't know **** about hockey.

Let's say he ends up with 65 pts and we go deep in the playoffs and leads this team in points, still a bust?
If i thought that we were going to pay Richards this kind of money for 60-65 points yes i would consider that a bust. Stepan will get 60-65 points for $875,000. Richards will make 6.6 this year.
