Sens 3 @ Habs 2 F/SO: The "Gonchar is now right-handed and wears 65" edition

A few thoughts:

1. Would the NHL consider a dry scrape/broom sweep for OT? Maybe an extra-wide attachment to the zamboni or even a manually-pushed broom/mop that would push all the snow to one end?

2. Andersen was phenomenal - let's all try and remember this performance next time Sens run into a tough loss.

3. During the Bingo game (they got blasted 6-4 after having a 4-2 lead) a name I frequently hear is ****hammerer. I mean Klinkhammer. Does he have any future in the O? I can't see anyone being sat in his place but just wondered if he's on the radar.

4. Congrats to Turris on a well-deserved goal - really love how he goes into the corners and his tactics and positioning for going for the puck instead of taking the body (or more the former than the latter).

Thank you for making this. I have been too lazy the last few games.

Turris was fantastic tonight, best player besides Anderson.

This.

Turris was unbelievable as he has been Ottawa's best player 2 games in a row now. Maybe tied with Spezza last game.

Also, we are missing one more elite threat on our top line LW to be legit, imo.

Anderson playing like he did last year which is remarkable hockey.

Beat the Leafs next and I won't complain for another month.

Can't wait until April.

I agree with the person that said the Sens need 1 more top 6 guy to make them a real threat in the playoffs. Smyth, Prospal, Ruutu, for rentals would be nice pieces. Smyth and Ruutu are guys that shine in the playoffs though.

I just can't understand what our problem with Montreal is. This looked like an exact replica of the 6-2 loss in December but this time goaltending (Anderson) came through for us. Andy stole the game plain and simple.

Oh well, back at it on Monday against the Jets. Make it 5!

Spezza is so unbelievably clutch against MTL. Alfie is not allowed to retire. /thread

We are 4 points away from 1st overall in the NHL... Currently tied at 6th overall, just saying

So much for being last overall, lulz. That's also why I always at how much stock people put on those "summer predictions"

He's probably drunk, except he's crying instead of singing right now

4 pts in 16 playoff appearances is hardly shining.

Maybe its time to rest Cowen a game or so, he looks tired and slow. It's his first season after all..

Anyways, felt great with a win against MTL. Somehow we always play like crap against them.

We need to start a committee (it's Ottawa afterall) to go around and harvest organs or something to keep Aflie going. Whatever it takes.

Only Cowen has struggled but our offense had so much difficulty trying to make anything happen in the offensive zone until finally MacLean put Alfredsson back on the top line.

We need another threat on the top 6. Another top 4 would be nice but this game proved we need offense to finish off teams we should be winning against in regulation.

Why? Maybe the need one depth guy... a Hal Gill type D man. Lee and a pick would probably get a player of that ilk to really stead the blueline.

Beauchimen would be the perfect addition IMO.

By rest, do you mean healthy screatch? If so, no way.

If by rest you mean 18-20 minutes instead of 25 then I agree.

All star break is coming up, Cowen can rest then.

edit: Honestly, I feel as though this team has a harder time finding its legs than wearing them out too fast.

Turris aka satan has made me into a big fan. I'm starting to not care as much about the second round pick. He's going to score some goals in bunches. Back to back games where elite goalies can't handle his shot. Very impressive.

I ain't even mad.

Carkner played like 8 minutes. We need another NHL defencemen to keep competing. It is a great time to be a sens fan right now.

Wooo technically we're tied for 3rd overall in the East for points. (Philly with 3 games in hand) Florida only up there due to division leader thing.
