News on Crosby.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby will meet with a specialist this week because of lingering concussion-like symptoms.

Crosby hasn't played since Dec. 5 following a recurrence of the symptoms that sidelined him for more than 10 months last year. The team says Crosby will work with chiropractic neurologist Dr. Ted Carrick, who treated Crosby for similar symptoms last summer.

The 24-year-old star skated with his teammates for the first time in more than a month last Friday, a first step in what could be another long comeback. He has had dizziness and headaches and problems exerting himself at a high level.

There is no timetable for Crosby's return.

I wasn't sure if it was already known that he was dizzy and headaches after skating with teammates?

The article isn't super clear - are they saying the symptoms cleared up enough that he could start skating with the team again, and then when he did that, the symptoms came back?

I believe so. It was a fairly big deal (by media standards) when he started skating last Friday; looks like he has taken a step backwards and is nowhere close to returning.

I believe that's what it's saying.

And those additional symptoms have caused him to seek advice of another specialist (in addition to the many he's likely already seen) who he saw last summer

ESPN is also the only source I have seen yet... we all know how great their hockey coverage is.

He's having trouble with his balance so he is going to see the guy who does all the crazy treatment again.

I'd be very surprised if he played another game this year.

Yep, going to see a Chiropractor to work on balance. It was just said by GM Ray Shero in a local interview.

No. He's been having some motion issues throughout. He hasn't been symptom free.

Yea, this has nothing to do with him skating on Friday. He's had the balance issues since before that. The balance issue is the concussion-like symptoms. I have no clue where they're getting this headaches crap related to Friday's skate from.

This does not talk anything about dizziness or headaches. Which one to believe?

The article was written by the AP, so it's not like one of their guys wrote it.

What does everyone mean, when they say he's working on balance?

Bad foreboding about his career. If the injury hasn't affected his life outside of hockey (I can provide links to this concept) he may be forced to consider a new direction, where the worst symptom he has to suffer is regrets.

If he is having balance issues he should be seeing an audiologist. Besides hearing issues they do extensive work with the vestibular system. He needs to get to Vanderbilt they have one of the best balance programs in the world.

That article clearly states he is having symptoms related to his concussion.

You should email him. I highly doubt the group of people around him has thought of this

It does not imply that he had any kind of headaches or dizziness.Only balance issues.

Chiropractors are wonderful.

Had back problems from a summer job 2 years ago and got it fixed.
