I played NHL 07 with classic controls the whole year. Now I feel like a total jackass for it. The new controls over exponential levels of precision you can't even dream of having with the other ones. Toe drags and so forth aren't even possible with the classic controls.

Broadcast is probably your problem. Don't know why they even bother putting in that stupid camera angle.

Dunno. I want to feel like I'm watching on TV. Most gamers prefer it that way for basketball and soccer games.

EA's broadcast cam sucks anyway. It's not even a real broadcast cam.

I haven't had any problems with EASHL.

The only issue I have is finding decent goaltenders to play with during drop in. And getting used to the learning curve.

I recommend Custom 3 or Classic for camera angles, and of course recommend that you learn to use the skill stick controls. You won't regret it.

As far as realism goes, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. If you play seasons or anything where you sim games, you're gonna see a lot of stuff that makes you scratch your head. Same goes for management-related stuff like contracts, trades, lineups, et cetera.

I have had the same problem too. Sometimes it acts as if you were to hold the left trigger or L2, which results in you facing the puck regardless of where you are trying to go.

i don't think it would be the xbox controller because it works fine. ea servers is probably down? my player couldn't even move up and down the ice without moving sideways..

First of all welcome to the Jedi Order. 2nd of all you should get used to the right stick unless ur just not a co-ordinated person, even if it takes a week. Third of all, add me on PSN - Davalicious if u are on that or anyone for that matter. I play any position in EASHL besides goalie. I'm pretty decent defensively so I'm a pretty good addition to any team. Although I have been known to set up a few goals too. Camera angle=classic like a boss. I would compare myself to Obi-wan Kenobi.

you guys play with those crazy controls?
i use the sticks to shoot, but ive never tried the complicated controls....
i was wondering why i couldnt change lines on my own.

to answer the question i think no matter the time of your period, you can adjust the powerplay to go in real time or 10 seconds only depending on your period lenght.
and at 5 minutes the period. i can still shoot 30 times and they will still shoot a good amount.

Is there any PS3 EASHL team here? Saw one 360 team, but after 4 RROD I gave up on it.

Yeah it's not the controller, it's the game. It happens in online modes from time to time.

You guys are right. The stick control is fun. I guess my problem was using the broadcast cam. I am now using Action cam. I can complete my passes now and it's easier to dispossess your opponent. I apologize for doubting you! I play 14 minute periods.

They need to do something about the goaltender trapezoid penalty or fix it in the game because 3 times out of my last like 4-5 games my goalie has come out and touched the puck resulting in a penalty

They turned the Rangers defense from bad to horrible

I'm pretty sure Miller is still the best goalie

So much FAIL

Anybody have any suggestions on how to join EASHL team?Should I wait for the new season to start...?

My pro isn't great yet but nto bad at all and i tend to put a lot of points in every drop in game. I am willing to start with any type of team and work my way up.

EASHL is really fun, but when you get a bunch of puck hogs just trying to stat themselves up it gets annoying. Thankfully, I haven't encountered one in a while, but when I do I just go offside until they get the point. It's so much more rewarding, and fun, to complete a nice pass and get an assist. Scoring goals is nice but it can make some people ravenous for the puck.

Need some advice on the defense. I cannot stop the AI from scoring! I heavily rely on body checks but it doesn't always work. I hit them yet they keep the possession. Poke checking is useless since it slows your player down so it's easy for the AI to get by you.

Block the shots they are shooting, block passing lines, blocking passing lanes and forcing them into the boards makes them usually clear the puck.

And don't be too aggressive, try to pick a right spot to take the body check, example at a point where the player is close the to boards so he has nowhere to hide.

And when i'm defending, i force the AI close the boards so they have to clear the puck, or make a pass to another player.

And if you can't get the puck from them while defending and they are cycling the puck and shooting from the blue line etc., get in front of their shots and watch that no players from their team has space in front of the crease to make a deflection/one-timer/rebound etc.

As long as you have good positioning and put pressure on the puckhandler, you'll be fine. Alternatively, you have to take away scoring chances by cutting off lanes and you have to be able to block potential shots. That's key. Plaaplaa72 pretty much covered it all for you.

Can anyone tell me if this will be the last player rating tweak? They need to fix the Islander's skating speed, even Grabner is just average
