Okay, why won't my some of Be a GM mode settings stay put? My preferred settings: Action Cam, Normal Sized puck, No name indicator, Manual line changes.
All of those get reset every freaking time I play a new game. It's ****ing annoying.
From the menu. After each game, I save it. I turn on the console again and the those three settings are back to default. I don't know if it matters but I change the settings inside the "Be a GM" mode, not from the main menu. And I seem to only see the Line changes options (Manual/Auto) before I play a game.
You know, do not change ur goalie sliders all the way because ur goalie will give up juicy rebounds and you get scored on everytime because of it, so annoying
Said I wasn't going to buy the game this year, but I finally caved a few weeks ago and got it anyways.
Not surprised to see it's pretty much the same game as the last few years. The Legends mode is a bit odd considering the likes of Roberto Luongo, the Sedins, and Zdeno Chara are listed as Legends when players like Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Jacques Plante, and Maurice Richard are excluded. But ah well.
The Be A Pro is pretty fun, it's what I've been mostly playing. I like starting out in the CHL in the year before draft eligibility. The only problem is the thing freezes mid-game quite a bit, and it always has to be in the third period. Aggh!
Be A GM is the same. I can still pull off deals extremely lopsided in my favor and get the "Our fans will be cheering in the streets after this!" response.
Two quick rookie questions since I barely know what I'm doing in Be a GM mode.
I hear a lot of people saying their franchise player has A- B A potential or whatever. I know they refer to offense, defense and athleticism (I think...), but how do I find these? All I see is my overall potential.
Also, how do I edit or add players in Be a GM mode. When I click edit players, all I can change is the players' sticks and stuff.

1) When you're selecting a player in, let's say, the contract screen, you can click on R3 (the right joy-stick) to access a page with all their attributes. Look at the right corner, and you'll see his height, weight, etc. What you have to do is pull the right joy-stick left or right until you see his potential.
2) a) To create a player, you just have to click on "New player" under the "Creation Zone" instead of "Edit Players". This will lead you to a screen where you can create your own player. You could check some video on YT for more details, but basically, you change from pages (Equipment, appearance, attributes, informations, style) by clicking on the right and left buttons (RB/LB or R1/L1). When you're done, you can press "B" or "O" and confirm that you want to save the changes you've made. You'll find your players under the free agents list. If you want to assign him to a team, go to "Roster Management" then "Player Movement". There, you'll have the possibility to choose two teams and make trades that will be saved on your rosters file. By default, you'll have the Anaheim Ducks and the Free Agents. Just choose the team you want by using the R and L triggers and buttons (RB/RT/LB/LT or R1/R2/L1/L2), then go down to your player in the FA list (Sorted alphabetically), press A or X to choose him, and press "X" or "Square" (Again, depending on your console) to confirm that you want to move him to the selected team.
2) b) To edit a player's attributes, you just have to do like I said above : On the editing screen, you can change the pages by pressing LB/RB or R1/L1.
Once you understand it, you'll think it's really easy, and it is. Just a question of getting used with the menus and interfaces.
Thing that pisses me off most about Be A GM is the lack of effort they put into player ratings for CHL.
So many players end up in the free agency pool that their club would at least give a rookie contract too. Add that too the fact it would take the developers an hour or two at the most to update the ratings of a mock draft so that potentially top picks don't end up undrafted.
Worst part of it is you spend the time to update the ratings but then have to do them over again after a roster update. Very frustrating.

Bourque is in there actually, but I know what you mean.
Crosby, Malkin, Chara, etc. shouldn't be in there. IMO "legend" is how you refer to someone after they retire.

Ahh, got the first part. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot input new players into a file of be a GM that has been in use for a while?

You're right. When you start a Be a GM, it uses the roster you select (You can load before starting a BAGM it if you have different ones), so you can't make any changes to the rosters in your BAGM. You have to make those changes (edits, created players, etc.) prior to starting one.

Thanks. Do you know where the option for saving/loading different rosters is?
I put Markström and Allen on my trading block and i put that i want to receive Prospects (interest bar 4/4) and then i put prime age and veterane players interest bar to 0/4 and defenseman interest bar to 4/4, but nooooooooo the AI offers me veterans that i dont want at all, it is seriously starting to piss me off, they don't even offere me prospects although i have in the trading block that i want ONLY PROSPECTS but they still offer me veteran players.
And if try to make a fair deal, then noooo they still decline every fair deal i offer them, ****ing annoying.
Yeah, the trade engine is clearly run by HFBoards, where the computer is trying to get all of my good, young prospects for 2-3 79OVRish vets. Woohoo!
Just curious has anyone ever put together a list of intro/goal songs for all 30 teams, for those who might want to add them to their games?
I've looked but this place is so enormous I couldn't find anything conclusive. If not, I'd be more than happy to run such a thread - updating it with contributions etc.
And I don't know why I took so long to join this place; I've used it so often for info...

That's what I use, and I just add some of my favorite songs to it. This sound pack is very complete and has everything from goal horns to PP songs.
Alas, because that whole thing is on MegaUpload - which has now been taken down - I can't get at it. I wonder if the chap who made it keeps a list of the content somewhere else.
