Surprising to see Gusev ranked that highly (39th), not sure if his game would translate that well to the NHL.

Interesting to see an overager that high. Also nice to see Collberg getting some recognition after his great WJC.

lol Craig Button has 3 goalies top 30, 4 top 5. ISS has 0.

I can't see why Vasilevski & Subban wouldn't be top 50 for ISS but their list is WAY better than Button's

ISS has a separate list for goalies, much like the CSS.

I thought so but I don't see any rankings for goalies anywhere so I assumed it was all together. Is that list coming or did they just not make one?

always prefer ISS lists to CSS/redline/button

them and mckenzie do the best job IMO.

Love seeing Trouba that high. Kid's a beast. Maatta seems high? Nice to see Bozon finally get on a list somewhere.

ISS' head scout Ross MacLean is a semi-frequent guest on The Pipeline Show. I vaguely recall him saying that they don't include goalies in their list (they didn't have Jack Campbell in their top 30 in 2010 for example), but that he has Oscar Dansk over Vasilevski/Subban. He expressed his stance that in general he wouldn't take a goalie in the first round in most drafts.

No idea how Andreas Athanasiou is ranked that highly.

There are quite a few guys ranked below him who are clear-cut better than him IMO.

Interesting to see two prospects previously passed over in the top 50, is that common? Pearson and Gusev.

I could see Bozon ending up being the top rated forward out of the dub, beating out Sissons.

Kid's got it all.

This seems like a pretty good list imo, obviously there will always be some things people don't agree with but this seems pretty good.

I love all these guys who basically just throw the NTDP players in a blender and see what sticks after Trouba.

Skjei over Matteau/Kerdiles is one thing(terrible)...over Girgensons is just silliness.

I completely agree. When it comes to those players' rankings they look all over the place.

Familiarity. Going to be interesting what, if anything, comes out of next Tuesday.

They named Chad Johnson and Derek Lalonde coaches.

The U18s wont be playing. So it shouldn't matter.

Yeah im definitely disappointed, as my current name shows. I really had higher hopes for him, I figured with his skill set and the heart to succeed he would be doing better. But he looked like he took his game to another level by all accounts before he suffered his injury and since he came back he still sat out the U20 tournament because he didnt feel ready so I would give him some time to get back up to speed still. I mean sitting the tournament out and not playing any hockey during that time is a clear indication that just a few weeks ago he was still having problems.

Anyways its all up to him at this point, he just cant be discouraged and has to keep working hard. Personally I think he can be a huge steal if he falls but he has his work cut out for him now, hopefully he can go to team with a good development program because thats what he will need to realize his potential, and that potential is high.

Galchenyuk's ranking of 18th still baffles me. Damn silly really considering Morgan Rielly (8th) and Slater Koekkoek (15th) haven't been punished for their injuries. To me, Galchenyuk is a top 3 forward talent (and some would argue top 2). He's certainly ahead of Athanasiou and Maidens in the OHL.

???

Frk is just getting his game legs back, but he's looked great back so far. Him and Mac are going to be fun to watch the rest of the way.

I think he'll finish the season on a high note and someone will make a bit of a reach for him. I think he'll be a real good NHL player regardless.

34. TOMAS HYKA RW 5'11 160 R Mar. 23/93 Gatineau QMJHL

What do people think of Hyka? I am surprised he is being ranked so high. I am not in a position to judge but I always thought he was probably the most skilled Czech but undersized and his game didnt look well suited for the NHL.

He was passed up last year, which was a big miss by all 30 teams, this year he went to the Flyers training camp and looked very good and even scored in the preseason. For some reason the team thought they could sign him(and they wanted to) but obviously they could not under the current rules since Hyka needs to go back in the draft.

Anyways im interested in some peoples opinions on him and his ranking.
