Agree with Supersonic--Kreider has NHL written all over him and Torts is the right guy to get the best out of him.

I understand Kreider wanting to get his degree but as far as hockey turning pro this season would have done him a world of good--challenged him to really step it up--and I think he has it in him to go a long way. BC not being so hot this year has not helped him all that much. He's gotten better from last year but...anyway I don't see him in Hartford either. He should go right to the NHL.

Kreider got credited with one of the assists on the OT winner so he finished with 1G, 1A tonight.

Where are you seeing that? The box scores I'm seeing aren't crediting him with an assist.

Speaking of Fogarty, Grachev was sent back to the minors a while ago and has only 4 points in 11 games thus far. It was a nice move by our guys to get that pick for him

It's nice that there's a winning culture being built in him. Always like for all the teams our prospects are on to do well, even though I'm not following the teams as a whole.

They updated it again and switched it from an unassisted goal to giving Kreider a secondary assist.

In regards to CK's engagement/compete level is that his game is not all that similar to guys like Gaborik. Gabby is a dangler. Lots of agility, lots of fancy stick work. That's not really CK's game. Lots of danglers like Gabby tend to have consistency issues because they don't like getting into overly physical games and thus can struggle against some opponents.

What's unique about Kreider is that he's built like a truck, has tons of speed and tends to play a more north/south game.

That said, though he's built like Shane Doan, he doesn't always have much JAM as Torts might say. It will be interesting to see how his game progresses once he's forced to play with more of a physical edge. Will he find it harder to get into scoring position? Or will it transform his game into something truly elite at the next level? That's the big question.

Kreider has been watching Mark Messier's game 6 performance in 1994

:39 seconds

That looked familiar

If Gaborik's a dangler then he's the worst ever. I've seen few players look less comfortable then he does going in on a defenseman. He makes some nice dekes occasionally, but his shiftiness is his weapon.

He really is a terrible one on one player. He beats a d-man maybe once every 20 tries. His strengths are his quick and accurate shot, acceleration and finding open space

Glad to know I'm not the only one to cringe when I see Gabby make a "move" to get around a guy one on one.

Gabby's a terrible dangler. He's a fantastic sniper.

Yup. It gives me the bad chills.

Same when he tries a deke on a breakaway or shootout attempt.

The key to Gaborik's game is finding open space and using his speed and shot.

Kreider may be a lot bigger version of Gaborik meaning he should be able to compete in some areas that are not Gaborik's strengths-corners, boards, front of the net.

Gaborik is not a great deker but he does have a great shot and a quick stick and the instincts to find loose pucks when he's around the net.

Nice to see Kreider follow up his 3 points performance with another 2 points. Hopefully he's starting his late season push..

Yeah, Gabby should just shoot on the breakaway/shootout.

Gabby's not a dangler but he uses his speed and awareness to get into places that'll lead to goals before other guys get there. If CK can score as many goals as Gabby I wish he would play like that.

Why would there be a lot of scouts at this game?

However many were there, they got an eyeful. Yogan finished 2-0-2 +1 (with his team's only 2 goals) and Thomas 1-2-3 +2 in an Oshawa 5-2 win.
