Thanks for the highlights again, WolfKeeper. That goal by Schroeder was a beauty. Jensen also had a few nice highlights in there. Overall, impressed with the composure of that team to be able to come back from 3-5 down with only 17 minutes left or so.
Watching the Wolves against the Milwaukee Admirals later tonight, bound to be a more entertaining game than what the Canucks have put forth lately. Will report back as usual.
Nice to see Matson score his first AHL goal; could be playing his way into a pro contract. If only we didn't have dead weight contracts like Rai, Archibald and Schneider...

I don't really consider Archibald a dead weight. He's going to need time but he's still a promising prospect. The ECHL time might be for the best as he gets to work on his offensive game.

You mean ECHL time, right?
Is there a reason Cannata is backing up instead of Climie (last game and tonight's)?
I wonder if there is any chance of Jensen making the Canucks next year. If I remember right (and there is no guarantee of that) he almost played his way on to it this year. Not only that the Canucks may be hesitant to send such promising players back to the CHL after the steps back Bourdon (rip) and Hodgson (enjoy Buffalo) had after promising camps.
Rodin snipes it yet again (3rd goal in 3 games) to tie up the game in the 3rd. Not much of a game so far, not a whole lot to report on.
- Polasek is back in and playing really well, the PBP and colour guys won't shut up about him
- Corrado is very poised for a young guy, similar to Tanev
- Rodin, Jensen, Schroeder, and Matson are all having pretty good games
On the whole the team doesn't look like they're going all out so it's pretty boring hockey. That said, games like the last few from Rodin make me believe he has some serious pro potential.

He can't be any worse than Raymond..
Seriously, I don't see him making it ahead of Schroeder even though Schroeder isn't as productive as a winger. I see Pahlsson returning next season and only possible opening spot would be Raymond's spot if he gets traded.
Pathetic play to end the game by Haydar as he gives up the puck and it results in a 2-on-0 breakaway. Rodin was buzzing the whole OT; his shot is seriously lethal.

Rodin's pro potential is more about then just next year though
Many regulars sat out tonight - Baumgartner, Reinprecht, Mancari, Matheson, Connauton rested in this game. Fact Connauton was out might indicate that he has been working with an injury which makes you wonder if fall off in play over last part of the year may have something to do with some sort of on-going injury.
Lack was outstanding. Would probably have had a shut out had not his own defenseman Henry deflected a shot into the net. Would think there is good chance Lack starts in the playoffs. OT goal was a 2 on 0 breakaway resulting from a very sloppy effort by Haydar.
Polosek probably had his best game as pro. Was looking very mobile and strong in his own end. Guy can play some hard-nosed hockey. Also moving up on the offense. If he can bring this game next year he should be good at this level. Very encouraging effort in this game.
Matson is very much like Sweatt. Excellent wheels but often a little hasty in his play. You can see why he is limited offensively. Probably be a useful player at the AHL level but you wonder if he can bring more than hustle and quickness. However, should see time in the playoffs.
Corrado showed some smoothness and nice touch on his passes. Good in the open ice and makes intelligent plays. However, also apparent that he needs more strength and size. Got bottled up in his own end on several occasions and had trouble responding to the speed of the forecheck.
Parent had a decent game. Mistakes were more limited than usual and he showed some good range in his play.
Sauve had some very good shifts where he threw his weight around and got people efficiently off the puck. But with Sauve you always wonder how long he can maintain his focus. When he is on he is good but has a tendency to drift away and become mediocre to poor.
Jensen showed some but he has a ways to go. Tends to make the lazy circles when trying to get back in the play rather then the quick hard pivot. Also is usually "one and done" with his offensive efforts - needs to get more continuous in effort and play. All in all had little impact on the play. See flashes and some nice, attributes such as stick handling, but Jensen is far from a sure thing.
Have liked Rodin better in other games but made a nice shot on the goal and is starting to get more productive. No doubt there is talent here.
Schroeder continues to play well both ways. More and more impressed with his ability to fight physically in his own end. However, you like to see Schroeder make better use of chances he gets. Schroeder seems to end up with a at least a couple of excellent chances a game and with a little more touch and accuracy you could see him scoring more than he does. Hopefully playing with someone like Haydar will allow Schroeder to improve his ability to pick corners and develop his release. Size remains a concern but Schroeder, at least at this level, has become a pretty good player.
Schneider played better and seems more involved in the play and better able to control the puck. Unfortunately he got nailed and hurt and missed much of the last part of the game. (nice to see Clackson step in and pound Dupont for the hit). It's too bad that with all his size Schneider wasn't a little tougher. Absolutely limits any long term hope for Schneider but he did look better in this game.
