I'm surprised. I knew we could beat Winnipeg, but after beating one of the hottest teams lately in the Conference in their own building last night I thought they would put up a good fight.

Whether Winnipeg played good or bad it doesn't really matter, because there have been so many teams that played bad against the Devils that they barely beat, and didn't take advantage of their weaknesses and then even teams that played bad against us that beat the hell out of us.[Calgary]

It gives us momentum going into Boston, and puts us quite a few points to get comfortable in the top 8.

Boston has lost a lot of momentum. Losing to Carolina who were at the bottom of the Conference barely beating Florida, and tied right now in the 3rd period with TB who is now the worst team, and bottom of the Conference.

We can beat them this time I think. The only great loss we had this season was the first time we played Boston. Boston is the only team we've played more than once that we haven't beat yet.

Say what you want about Marty, but he's had a lot of games recently where he's only given up 1 goal. I am bummed about the shutout loss tonight again. Good shot from Enstrom out of nowhere.

We've only given up 1 goal in each of our last 3 games. For the first time this season we're even in goals for, and goals against. Technically we aren't because 8 are shootout goals, but whatever. Also I think we've won 8 in a row non shootout which is awesome.

Bingo.

Combine that with a diversifed offense led by NJD's big guns, and you have....

A loss to the Rags counts as 10.

For gods sake let's beat Boston! Take it to them like the last game of last years regular season!

We gotta beat them for gods sake! They just lost to two chump teams this week in the last 3 days! I know they played 3 days in a row, but still.

Also Clarkson goal was probably his best goal I've ever seen! My favorite goal of the season by the Devils next to Elias in LA!

I wouldn't get carried away, though. It was Winnipeg. I want to see an actual performance against Boston. They don't even necessarily have to win, just be in the game in the third period and make them work.

Boston doesnt have to win either[to prove they're an amazing team I mean], and thats the problem

We need to win, we need the confidence that comes with beating the stanley cup winners if were going to go on another 2nd half run

Devils haven't won in the shootout in nearly a month. I thought they were a shootout only team and would have no shot of winning a game in the playoffs without it?

Has nothing to do with the opponent, or this game specifically. (Or the next one, specifically, for that matter, though it will certainly be a good barometer.)

It is easy to decipher a clear, consistent impovement in play over the last several weeks...or at least it should be.

Win or lose, with very rare exceptions, Devils are playing good hockey nightly.

I would be very impressed. And I am.

They also rely on a trap to win games, and when Marty is playing well he's a product of the system but when he sucks, he's just a washed up vet that needs to retire.

People will always try to downplay NJ's success no matter what. It's been going on for decades.
