Oh great. Jimmy "born on third base, thinks he hit a homer, the team batted around and then he hit a triple" Dolan is now trying to hitch his wagon to this team's success since the Knicks aren't looking as good as he hoped.
Please, please, PLEASE go away. The ONLY good thing I've been able to say about you for the last ten years is that you didn't **** with the Rangers.
I thought the top line was fantastic all night, Hagelin just needs to finish some of those chances. Nice to see the top-line with a pulse after a rough stretch. Stepan in particular has been fantastic since the Toronto game, after a quiet few games.
Also noticed MDZ getting shifts on Staal's right in the third. Not sure how permanent a solution that is but great to see Del Zotto keep his ice-time.
That Rangers ended on a very good note, but they were not outstanding, not by a long shot. They were outplayed for about half the game, especially their first period.
I wouldn't call it a disaster of a game, but it was very average.
PoTG: Hank
Good: Boyle was awesome, as well as Hagelin and the rest of our bottom 6, and Stepan. Our D played well after a sloppy start, Anisimov and Richards showed they have a pulse, but they were crap otherwise.
Bad: I thought Callahan wasn't great, he had a few good shifts in the 3rd but he was quiet besides that.
Redden: Nobody was that bad.
Wrong.
Just because Nashville had chances.
This is a hockey game not a ****ing video game where non stop one sided dominance exists.
Rangers defense was outstanding, forecheck was relentless, neutral zone pressure was outstanding. Penalty kill was outstanding.

Power Play still sucks.
What the hell does this even mean?
There is one sided dominance in hockey, all the time. The Rangers looked like chickens with their heads cut off in the first period. They had some nice spurts, but this isn't a game Tortorella is going to use as an example of the right way to play.
Nashville didn't even have that many great chances, but they owned the puck for large periods of time.
"I have my owner up here talking about a Stanley Cup. That's a bunch of bull----," Tortorella countered good-naturedly. "We need to take one game at a time."
I thought they played a very solid game on the back end tonight.

On the one hand, great to win a game where the top players didn't do squat. On the other, I don't think they'll go far in the playoffs unless they get more scoring and do something about the powerless play, which is dreadful, almost as bad as two years ago.
Then again, teams that win in the playoff get on a roll just before the playoffs, not at the All-Star break. I think the Rangers are a team on the rise, but they may be a year away unless they can get someone who can bury chances.
POTG: Hank
McD (he belongs on the All-Star team if someone pulls out
Boyle/Mitchell/Hagelin (take your pick)
Bad - power play
Redden - power play
Someone needs to determine our record with and without Wolski in the lineup this season.
It seems to me our worst stretches were at the beginning of the season when he was healthy/playing and the last 3 games couple of games after he returned, pre scratch.
