Yup Gorges is definitely a building block for the Habs and they just extended him so he ain't going anywhere.

So call up Holmgren, kings 2nd for Gill!

If only it worked that way

I wouldn't trade Theo for Kovalchuk, as much as Kovalchuk is awesome and so talented, you don't trade a top 5 goalie for a goal scorer. You can't win without a good goalie in the net even if you have a top scorer.

Theodore won't be dealt. This thread is pointless, close it as well as the Theodore and Garon one.

Didn't make any sense at all

Yes exactly the point which it seems you aren't getting, trading the younger player without ever giving him a shot for a washed up player which is what you want(goalie)

And you taking a quote from back in the day when Theodore was a Hart winner, nice!

Dude wake up!

sit back and think of your 2012-13 Habs, all of a sudden how crazy am I?

Grigorenko
Nail Yakupov
Radulov
Brassard

In net Kipper and Thomas

Columbus HAS a goalie....his name is Steve Mason and he's going to be an elite goalie someday....what Columbus needs it patience and more depth.

The Habs will not let Price go...PERIOD!! He's going to be the best goalie in the NHL in the next few seasons. Kipper and Thomas are going to retire or be nothing more than backup goalies in the next couple of seasons.

The Habs need to build their team around Price, Subban, Gorges, Diaz, Emelin, Eller, Cole, Pleks, Patches, Kostitsyn, Bourque and Blunden and then fill in the holes with good veterans and role players and add some free agents along the way....thats how you build a team. You keep your strongest assets and build around them.....you don't trade your strongest assets when they are 22 & 25 years old!!!

That's because of bad management. Which is exactly what you want them to do again but this time you think it might help them

So then everytime you have a player with high value you trade him in case his value goes south...brilliant!

By your definition, Phillie should dump Giroux now in case he goes in the tank.

But there is no guarantee Price lands us that kind of return from Columbus. Long term we are better off holding onto him

The return from Price would be enormous, our goaltending wouldn't be anything less than what it is now.

Just remember how everyone was so in love with Theodore, and
if he was dealt at the right time, would have brought home alot more than Abby.

Think about it.

Kipper isn't a slouch ,nor is Tim Thomas .
The Bruins didnt need Carry Price to win the Cup.
its interesting- Kipper still has some pretty effective years ahead of him- BUT wondre what price would fetch- there are alot of good goalies in the NHL Now a Days

Canucks fan here: not sure how true it is, but on our board there are a bunch of people mentioning that Montreal may look to move PK Subban. I wanted to come here to see if that is at all true?

Honestly I would be very surprised if true, but think our teams could make a solid deal to get something done.

It's not true. There are some ppl in the media that have called for Subban to be traded but these individuals (ie. Bertrand Raymond; Benoit Brunet; Jack Todd; Gaston Therrien) all happen to be complete idiots. Everything they say or write is an absolute farce and very few ppl on this board actually respect their points of view. If in fact he is traded, it would be a colossal mistake and Pierre Gauthier would need to have a busload bodyguards to get out of Montreal alive.

depends...are you sending us the Sedins?

Seriously, he isn't untouchable, BUT, if he goes somewhere it's to score a massive return. Think of a trade similar to the Johnson-Stewart trade between STL and COL

Personally yes, I would send you the Sedins because I'm not a fan of their work in the playoffs lol.

Thanks you two for the info though. I won't get my hopes up and won't put much thought into a potential deal involving Subban. Sounded too good to be true from our perspective, but I do think Montreal should build around him as opposed to without him.

Aside from this being absurd on so many different levels, you just said Kiprusoff's deal ends in 2014, yet you have him on your 2012-2013 roster. So...do you have an idea how to build a team?
