Anyway since the Halak trade people talking against Price are Price haters, he doesn't suck far from it but his play this year is not worthy of what he is really capable of. He has a share in the woes of the habs wether you like it or not.
I don't think you should look at the stats this way. Habs D, as you told, are a mix of old guys that can't follow the beat and young guns with potential but immature. The habs are among teams that allows the more scoring chances/ game and that affect Carey's numbers. I really think he has been really solid this year (less than last year but still really solid). He is definitely an untouchable right now and I definitely wouldn't move him for P. Kane.

You're talking to the wrong poster here if you think I'm a Price fan and accuse other people of being haters... go back to Halak-Price threads and you'll see that I was accused of being a "halakian" and a hater...

The fact is that Price plays every game or so on a very bad team and does pretty well. He's extremely young and was superbe last year. He has a much talent as any goalie in this league and although he needs to play better, he's a lot better than you make him out to be.

Dude you really need to forget the whole trading Price thing. The habs (or any other team for that matter) are stupid enough to trade away their franchise goalie. He will be Canada`s goalie at the next olympics and is the reason why we are not below the Blue Jackets this season.

As for Kane, I think we have more assets to offer besides Price. But in saying that, if we lose tomorrow night vs. the Sabres, were not going to buy at the deadline.

Dude, a drinking lazy ass with caracter issues is NOT a superstar.

LOL at Kane being a superstar. Good player, Yes, superstar, NO.

Do not want on this team, and certainly not for Price.

Perry is having a hard time this season too so i guess he's not and elite goal scorer then

Kane has the game winning goal of the stanley cup so Price has shown what?

If gauthier were proposed a deal Price for Kane straight up he would be stupid to refuse.

Everyone can have his own opinion that's mine.
Some of you don't learn. Kane is a little ***** that drinks and as caracter issues. Can we avoid these guys.

This is Rick Nash, not Malkin we're talking about. Jeez do people ever learn from their mistakes : see Scott Gomez 3 years ago...

I wouldn't even trade Pleks straight up for Nash. Who would be our no 1 center ? I like DD, but come on, he's not even in the same category as Pleks.

Talk about a massive case of neighbour's greener grass...

Exactly! He has averaged about 65 points per season. I have a feeling that fans would quickly become disenchanted especially if we gave up all of the assets some are suggesting.

Panthers are rumored to be interested in Kostitsyn. Would Shore/Petrovic + 2nd be doable?

Either guy would be sweet. Florida has a nice group of 7-8 prospects...Huberdeau Markstrom Howden Bjugstad Grimaldi Shore Petrovic Robak

Hoe does this sound...

Montreal gets:
Edmonton 1st

Edmonton gets:
Montreal 1st
Calgary 2nd 2013

We draft Grigorenko while Edmonton takes Murray. Both teams fill their needs, we get a no.1 centre and they get a solid d-man who can patrol the blueline for years

That would be a no-brainer if the Oilers wanted to trade down. From 1997-2005 the odds of drafting a forward with at least .5 points-per-game and 200GP in their career or a dman with .15 points-per-game, 200GP, and 18:30 TOI in their career are much, much better in the top-3 than elsewhere. It would probably be worth it if you had to deal 3 2nd-round picks and the Habs' 1st to move up.

You're dealing with small numbers, but a top-3 pick gives you over and 80% type chance at that type of player. 4-7 is 50%, 8-13 41% and so on. A 2nd-round pick has about 15%*. That's a pretty big difference.

*percentages from the table in this articlehttp://www.coppernblue.com/2011/4/4/...ue-first-round

Nash is so overrated.

Anyways what would we have to give up for huberdeau? Would Plekanec and Cole be close?

Even if I agree that he is going to be an oustanding player, there's no way you can give Pleks and cole for Huberdeau. He is still a project and it happends that these guys fail in the NHL (a la Alexandre Daigle)
