I would do that in a heartbeat. I doubt Philly would, they need a guy who can play in all situations. The Anton would be a better fit in Minnesota.

The Anton will not waive his NTC to play for a team coached by the heathen Peter Laviolette, who regularly made Anton a healthy scratch and paired him with Josef Melichar (right before Anton scored 16 goals and led the Hurricanes to the playoffs under a coach who understood his greatness) and subjected him to great embarrassment when he was called up and played three minutes in a game.

Possibly the best defenceman ever to step on the ice, for a 2nd round pick?!

I'll even stop by Tim's and pick up coffee for the drive to the airport.

Why does Calgary do this? Has Babchuk not been performing up to expectations?

the real question is, who did they NOT give a NTC to?

i heard a couple things, one being it was limited, the other being one that expires just prior to the trade deadline in the 2nd year of the contract.

he struggled to start the year and then broke his hand. by the time he was healthy TJ Brodie had played himself into the lineup and has proven himself to be as good offensively without being as much of a defensive liability.

as for the OP I would move Babchuk for a 2nd as Philly has LA's and maybe Florida's. But I'm not sure if Philly would part with a 2nd unless the Flames are taking some salary back as well. Maybe someone like Jody Shelley. If no salary is coming back I could see them moving a 3rd and a 5th for him

Yeah, I'm not sure why they gave him a NTC. Feaster must have been bit by the Sutter bug on that one.

I can see Babchuk being moved for a pick at some point.
