Adam vs Kassian

Let's talk about something else...

Why is Adam in the NHL, and Kassian is not?

Adam has 1 point / -4 in his last 18 GAMES?!?!?

Kassian played 18 games with 6 points / -1

Kassian is lazy and has absolutely no hustle

Plus Center is a position of need for the Sabres and Wing is not.

Yes, because Adam has been playing center most of this year, right?

Adam is not playing center... and has looked lazy AND stupid for the better part of the last 3 months.

Adam has not produced. I do think he tries. Maybe going to Rochester will help him and the team for the future. He is not helping the team right now and can be sent down--unlike some of the other non producing millionaires we have. Maybe keeping him away from them would help.....

Adam should be in the AHL right now. I'm not going to pit them against one another. I'll just say that I'd prefer both Adam and Kassian getting 18-20 minutes/game down in Rochester, and someone like Chewy or Stuart (when healthy) playing bottom-line minutes.

Same. I almost feel like Adam, one of our best prospects, is getting tainted by current events. Let him produce and win in the AHL a bit more.

yesh, Adam should be sent down. He's not developing and it might bump his confidence up again getting top line minutes down there. Gimme Tropp or Chewy right now. I dont mind Kassian staying down at the moment, but thats only if some house cleaning occurs shortly giving him a chance to come up again.

Szczechura was injured for the early part of the season and I think was penciled in as the 14th forward, Ellis being the 13th.

Adam played well in the early season, but I wouldn't oppose making the switch.

Agreed. IMO Kassian isn't up because it's a numbers thing, as he plays RW and they're all healthy at the moment (Pominvile, Stafford, Boyes, Kaleta), but with their low TOI, it really isn't helping either Kassian or Adam in their development.

However, I am curious what Adam's totals (and our record) were with him at C vs. LW? Ruff preaches responsible two-way play so that's his reasoning (and probably Adam's skating too) with having Adam at LW vs. C, but I wonder if the numbers suggest a switch back to center would reignite him? I mean, what's a few more turnovers in this team?!

It took me awhile to warm up to Adam being up here. Shortly after I did, he started to plateau instead of progress in his development. Now in the past month or so, he's on a slow decline. I have to agree, send him to Rochester. But I also don't want Kassian up either. They can both marinate in Rochester for the rest of the season.

I'm also on the 'send Adam down' wagon. I wish they had grabbed Brule, dammit.

Been thinking this for a while. Ever since he got bumped down from the advantageous position of center between the two all-star wings, with the exception of 2-3 games where leino adam kassian got going.

+1 from me; Adam to AHL and picking up Brule would have been ideal

Since being sent down, Kassian has been brutally bad. I think he's pouting. Now thats lame.

I didn't see the game, but apparently he looked really good in Hershey last week from what I read. I'll agree that in the two home games since he's been back though, he has looked awful. Not sure if he was pouting or something else was off. I think he's definitely better off in the AHL right now, wouldn't hurt Adam either if the Sabres ever get healthy enough to send him down too.

Adam makes things happen in close, Kassian open's it up. both fairly well rounded and two great draft classes.

Adam hasn't been good, but there's also no reason why Ruff has tried Roy on the first line three times since VAP got broken up without giving Luke another shot on that line.

And I would've been fine with sending Adam down about a month ago. At this point, however, I think that he should just ride it out. Tim Kennedy was garbage for about this long, and ended on a high note once he finally got some coincidental opportunity to play top minutes again.

No qualms here about sending Adam down.

Kassisn on the other hand, well, take a look at the last page of the Amerks thread regarding his last 2 games.

Chewy or a healthy Tropp instead.

Both of them should be in the AHL.

Kassian shouldbe lighting it up. Hes on a line with Chewy and Whitmore. They haven't been producing. He seems to do better with Foligno, for some odd reason.

At this point, I think they should do whatever's best developmentally-speaking for both players for the long-term. This season's going nowhere fast, so put them where they need to be and let it ride.
